My exciting Jasper update! by
kitkat
Well, I went to visit my little handsome dude! The vet techs walked me
back to his cage and warned me that he was very cranky and that he might
his at me and stuff, so I should be on guard. There is even a sign on
his cage "WILL BITE! MUZZLE MAKES IT WORSE!" Poor Jasper! They think he
is a devil...

Carpeted Closet Litter Box - Is it Possible to Save Your Floor & Be Scent Free? by
Bobby Gee via CatKB.com
I've got a "human" 10 year old indoor male cat that is entirely incredible.
I've never had a spraying, clawing, escaping or discipline problem with
him. However, last week, while suffering from a severe cold I made a first-
time mistake of placing his catbox in it's normal place (a carpeted...

another Elvis update :( by
ElvisRocks
Went to see him this morning. He's on an IV. He actually looks better I
guess from the fluids but now he's weaker - and he's not eating. He ate a
few pieces of tuna and chunky chicken off my fingers but that was it. He
wanted to eat but it seemed like it was too much of a bother. My vet...

Mystery health problems in an older male cat by
[email protected]
My cat will be 14 this September. He's been through one major health
crisis, a tumor at the vaccination site, which led to the amputation of
his leg. Since then, he's adjusted pretty well, and has more or less
been okay. About five months ago, though, he began losing weight. At
first, I thought...

Cats and odors by
George Thomas
A tip about some cats' sensitivity to odors:
My cat (female) reacts quite viciously to the smell of Clorox. I use it
sometimes as a disinfectant and if I get it on my hands, all hell breaks
loose when she gets a even a slight whiff of it. She will sniff the
hand, lick it once or twice, then her...

What Price For Kitty? by
Glarb
I've been thinking about this. I have spent huge sums of money on the cat I
have had for the past seven or eight years. But I have money, and I don't
think about it. But if I didn't have money -- let's say living from
paycheck to paycheck -- and the vet came in and said, "$850 for labwork...

Fleas? or something else? by
carlene
We just adopted Lena from a very respectable pet orphanage. Supposedly
she was cleared by the vet at the orphanage, but since she came to the
household, she's been scratching more and more - left chin, right chin,
then all around the neck (but no other places). At first I thought her
skin was...

Bizarre switch in behavior. by
RobZip
Nacho and Spot are 8 months old now and getting really big. Both are
recently neutered and exceed 10 pounds. Their mom, Sammy, was spayed soon
after the kittens were weaned. She has gotten more active, involved with the
household in general, playful, and a lot sweeter with the human occupants...

taste... by
Joe Canuck
Just brought another bag of Science Diet home and noticed this text
"...great taste..." on the bag.
How are we to know it tastes great?
Has anyone here ever been so brave as to taste the stuff?
If so, did it taste great?
Do you think your cat will agree with your assessement of the taste?

Facial Twitching in elderly cat by
Kelly
Hello,
I have a 15 year old cat. A year ago her bloodwork came back with mildly
elevated urea, creatinine, and T4 levels. The doctor said she was
indicative of chronic renal failure. Since then, the urea and creatinine
have been controlled with a special diet (Medical Reduced Protein canned...

Online Pet Memorials by
sealey
I would like to offer our services to anyone who has recently lost a
pet.
Myself and a couple of animal loving friends, who have all lost pets in
the last year, had an idea of creating a website for people in a
similar situation who want to remember their pets. We came up with
the
idea of a...

POLL - Is it OK to breed your cat? by
KellyH
I have been labeled an extremist and a lunatic because I do not think it is
OK for someone to breed their cat. I'm wondering who else feels this way.
BTW - this is not a breeder, it's just someone with a regular old moggy who
wants kittens that are just as sweet and special as their...

MEOWING! by
Kelly
Hi everyone,
I got a new addition today. He was found outside my work by a fellow
employee. He's about 2 years old, male, total tomcat.... he wasn't
neutered. I immediately got him neutered and brought him home. I currently
have two other males cats both neutered... one 8 years, one 4 years. ...

Tracking Device by
Larry R Harrison Jr
I have a cat that perpetually likes to hide & go into seclusion. I don't
like that. Two other cats we have never do that, and don't bully the 3rd
one, and we'd rather then 3rd one be "out & about" to socialize with the
others rather than hiding all the time.
Sometimes she hides so strongly, you...

Cat diapers. Any experience? by
dgk
My cat is leaking some poop. Not ****. Poop, I think, is actually not
as bad as ****. That stuff really smells. Not to imply that poop
doesn't smell. And Jackie's smells, I would guess, worse than average.
Anyway, there isn't much that can be done about the poop leaking but I
was wondering if...

used pet insurance before? by
carlene
For those of you who has (or had) purchased pet insurance, do you
recommend it? And if yes, are there certain things I should look for
when selecting pet insurance? If no, why not? I recently had to pay
over $500 just for diagnosis and therapeutic procedures (but my cat
ended up dying because of...

Mutual Grooming by
KellyH
Do cats groom each other out of affection? Is it a dominant/submissive
thing? I just saw my foster kitten (almost a cat!) Ana grooming Bartleby,
who is sort of the top cat in the house. I've never seen another cat groom
him, he usually does the grooming.
