HELP: Friend in Taiwan needs help with tiny stray kitten by
Susan M
Hi all:
A friend of mine has rescued a tiny stray kitten - only 3 or 4 weeks.
She has three concerns: feeding, worming, and constipation. If any
of you have any insight, I'd appreciate it! I'll also call the TED
late tomorrow and see what he says. We are travelling and out of town
until then. ...

Bring a Plate OT by
Bev
New Zealand has an odd custom (I am told this by overseas visitors).
Sometimes if we go to a function i.e. a farewell for someone, a
commtttee meeting etc. we are told to 'bring a plate'. My German
sister-law admitted to complete confusion when asked to do this and took
an empty plate!

Victor's Boca Negra by
polonca12000
Dear Victor!
I have tried the recipe you posted on September 7 and it is delicious! It is
impossible to find 99% chocolate in Slovenia, even 70% chocolate is hard to
find and very expensive. But nevertheless the result was magnificent. Thank
you so much and looking forward to other recipes you may...

OK, I bought one. Expensive, aren't they? Anyway, it's done.
So I have taken a couple of snaps and put them on my Catpage. You can
see how Minke and Nanki Poo have aged in the last 18 months since their
last pictures.

Owie! by
dirtylitterboxofferingstospammers
I was woken this morning to the distinctly less than pleasant feeling of
Francis using my right thigh as a surface on which to milk tread. Silly cat was
purring his head off and milk treading like mad... but on my bare thigh.
*OWIE!!*
Cheers, helen s

Household chores by
John Biltz
I am pretty amazed at the way my two cats have divided the household
chores. Maya normally supervises me whenever something new is brought
into the house opened up and put away. She makes sure that nothing
sneaks into the house in a box or bag and that all is of acceptable
quality. She is also...

Persia & the Halloween Costume (mine!) by
jmcquown
I got all decked out this morning (yes, we got to wear costumes to work) in
a ballgown I'd bought for an American Civil War Re-enactment ball. It
consisted of a hoop skirt (undergarment), a green velvet overskirt trimmed
in white lace and a matching velvet lace-up bodice with lace on the...

Tornado! I'm in the bathroom... by
Margaret Fine
A tornado has been spotted on the ground near here. I am typing from
our interior bathroom right now. Got oliver in his carrier and I can
hear the wind has picked up. The sky was the oddest color before I
decided to round up the animals and hide out...

Otis - more property damage??? by
Susan M
Hi all:
Well, it seems that Otis just can't help wrecking the house, even when he
*is* allowed to go outside.
I didn't let him in fast enough because I was up to my elbows washing
something at the kitchen sink. He jumped up *6 FEET* to the 1/4 inch wide
window ledge to let me know his...

Aussie Warning about N.Z OT by
Bev
The 760,000 Aussies who visit N.Z. each year are being warned by the
Australian Government to be on the alert for earthquakes and thieves.
New Zealanders could be forgiven for thinking this a small risk against
those of killer snakes, spiders, dingoes, bushfires, sharks and
crocodiles, according to...

Purrs for ?????? by
Gizela
Whilst in Sydney I managed to visit one of my favourite pet shops (Chatswood
for those who know Sydney).....there was a delightful Cornish Rex cat
looking for somebody to adopt him. He is 2 years old, has beautiful grey fur
and needs a home. I spoke to the lady about him and she couldn't tell...

The Stray Kitty. (VERY LONG) by
Flippy
Meet Jetson. He is a stray kitty.
A few months ago he started hanging around. He is a male, shorthair, mainly
white with tabby markings. I guess the three lovely girl kitties and one
handsome boy kitty that live here attracted him. We didn't want him to be
called "the stray kitty", so we...

Fire in the fireplace by
jmcquown
It's chilly outside so I have a fire burning in the fireplace. Persia is
absolutely fascinated. I'm not sure why, since this isn't her first sight
of it. But she hunches up in front of it like a big meatloaf and just
stares at the flames. If one of the logs POP she jumps! Then resumes...

FIre & The Missing Cat by
Ginger-lyn Summer
I called my ex-husband, Victor, recently (we are good friends still),
and he was in shock. He had just found out a spark from a welder's
torch (they were working on the fire escape, of all ironies) had set
his apartment on fire. Luckily, the fire department got there in a
reasonable amount of...

Any jobpurr left? by
Hairball
No use to say that the healthpurrs and the
catpurrs have absolute precedence.
But just in case you have a tiny jobpurr left... I
have an interview tomorrow afternoon.
I'm leaving now (well, "now" is actually "when I
manage to catch the cats") and we are back on
Monday. No newsgroups until...
