Russian Blue will not use litter box any longer by
Alan S
Help!
We have a 2 year old Russian Blue that has decided she no longer needs
to use a litter box. We have had her since May, purchased from a
cattery in NC, and also have an older cat in the house. The new cat
used the box for a while, several months in fact, and we used Feliway
for a while...

Preventing a catfight? by
Brian Link
Our newest cat, Chloe, has more or less been integrated into the
household. It's not the outcome I would have wanted - she and the
other cats keep their distance - but there's no killing. Well, not
much.
Chloe has always had some behavioral problems, possibly related to her
declawing. 90% of the...

Does relaxation music work? by
Mike S.
Do those relaxation cds for pets really work? All the consumer reviews
I've seen say they do but the whole idea of music relaxing an animal
seems strange. I tried playing the samples for one of my cat's who's
uptight and it seemed to have a positive affect but it could've been a
fluke.
Has anyone...

Something's up with my cat...takers? by
[email protected]
My cat, Secret Mouse, usually loves me to death. I mean we're
seriously down. We hang out all the time. Lately, he's gotten really
mean and grumpy. He doesn't want anything to do with me, and has
started getting mad when I touch him. Tonight, while scratching his
chin, which he'll generally...

Teeth Problems by
jenwrenfer
Hello all,
I'm new here and just wanted to post and see if anyone had an experience like
I am currently having.
I have a 4 year old kitty with a history of mouth pain, extremely inflamed
gums. She has an autoimmune response to any amount of tartar, etc., on her
teeth and her mouth goes crazy....

Will they ever get along again? (little long) by
blkcatgal
Here's the story. I have 2 cats...cat A is 3 years old. I've had him since
he was a kitten. About 8 months ago, I adopted cat B who is now just over a
year old. It took a little while for the 2 to get along, and while they
aren't best friends, they do play together and get along okay. ...

The Catnip Buzz by
stanl3y
The Catnip Buzz
Cats sleep a lot, have you noticed it? It's a natural part of being
a cat, I'm convinced, because it's a seemingly universal trait.
And really, cats kind of move at their own pace, don't they?
However, should you give your sedate kitty a deep whiff of catnip, the
party will come...

Oral hygiene chews for cats. by
Wayne
We are paying a small fortune at the vet's for cat chews. (about $.50 each).
The cat was a stray that needed a lot of special care to recover and these
are easy on his system.
They are cylindrical with the diameter of a man's little finger and about
1.5 inches long (4cm). They are large enough...

Adopting another cat by
T
Now that we're down to one cat again, I thought it might be good to
adopt another cat or kitten.
I find myself going more toward a young cat as opposed to a kitten
because I know most people adopt kittens first.
I'm trying to convince the SO that going with a cat between 1-4 years
old isn't...

kitten surfing by
Lynne
Levi continues to crack me up with his antics on a regular basis. One
thing he has been doing that never fails to amuse me is his grooming
routine. He does a great job considering he never had a mother to show him
how, but when he gets to his back legs, I'm pretty sure nothing really gets...

Male cat acting like he's in heat by
Elvis Fan
OK, I know males don't go in heat....but, this has
me puzzled.
About 3 weeks ago a little stray half starved cat came to my
door and I fed it.
He kept coming back, and then it turned cold so I let him come
inside.
I already have a 7 year old 20lb neutered Maine Coon and he and the
youngster seemed...

Giving Kitty A Bath by
Gary Brown
Hi,
I would rather have another root canal but ... Snowy is not grooming
like he used to and his beautiful white coat is clumping and looking
shabby. How do you bathe a cat? ( He jumped into the bathtub when
a kitten which didn't help his natural distaste for water.)
At one time a "dry" hair...

Cat Trees - An Introduction by
stan beck
Cats are highly physical creatures that need plenty of healthy physical
outlets. Often, cats are adopted with the new owners not fully
appreciating the real needs of our feline friends. It is natural for
cats to climb, stretch, scratch and pounce. Any owner not
understanding this sets up their...

Update on cat pooping in house by
Deborah Trujillo
My husband told me this morning that his allergies have really been acting
up since Tumbleweed came to live with us. He didn't tell me before because I
had loved the cat so much. I've had him at the vet's since yesterday to
treat his diarrhea and find out of any physical causes of this. I bought...
