Coat matting by reilloc
Advise, please: my long-haired cat, who's got a personality more suspicious than a mother/father-in-law (take your choice) and a hair trigger when it comes to any sudden noise (and when the trigger trips the creature turns into a buzz saw that must get away) has significant matting of his coat....

Old cat can't keep any food down? by zhenzhen
Hello, I'm fairly new here but I just wanted some advice about my 16 year old cat Spot? He's still quite a mobile, vocal cat but he's unable to eat pretty much anything without throwing it up a few minutes later; have tried Fancy Feast tuna, Dine, Whiskas wet food, and just plain old Coles brand...

Introducing new food gradually by John Doe[_2_]
Introducing new food gradually by the book is great, but you must be on the lookout for a gradual decrease in food intake. That is likely especially true if you have multiple cats and one of them has an eating disorder, you must keep an eye on that one.

Cat Passed away by Charles Devlin
We brought our cat into the Vet today for minor eye surgery ( lower eye lid). Our cat (Phoebe) was 8 years old, and in good health. 5 hours later, the Vet called to say he was very sorry, but Phoebe passed away after surgery. My wife and I are devastated. We used all our savings to pay for the...

Gooey eyes -- what to do? by My2Kitties
Greetings, everyone. It's been quite a while since I've been to the forum. My cat's name is Boston Blackie, named after a detective in a 1940s radio show. Like the detective called "Blackie," that's what I call my cat, too. Anyway, he's been totally healthy. Has all his shots. He is five years...

Minitablets help medicate picky cats by Internetado
Of all pets, cats are often considered the most difficult ones to medicate. Very small minitablets with flavors or flavor coatings can help cat owners commit to the treatment and make cats more compliant to it, while making it easier to regulate dosage and administer medication...

Carrier Case by Mack A. Damia[_2_]
I have two, and Pookie is about one year older than Bubba. Both females. I spoil them; they are house cats and do not roam outside. Recently, we took them to the vet to get their bottoms trimmed of long fur as they were having accidents in the litter pan. We got Pookie in the carrier alright,...

Cat: cancer by reilloc
Local vet said the growth/bump on her head could be cancerous. University teaching vet clinic withdrew cells, reported cancer. She's 16, had her since kittenhood. Right now, she's okay; no mobility issues or the like. Some trouble breathing and occlusion of her right eye due to the growth....

I just spent $44 for 6 pounds of cat food by John Doe[_2_]
Not really bragging, some people spend lots more in other ways on their pets. I like to spend at the front end. Purina is enforcing their ban against selling Veterinary Diets Oral Care without a prescription. So $44 is the black market price for a $32 bag. What other food/treat options are...

Namaste! The Art of Yoga - YogalifeGoa by Nikhil Jain
Yoga is an ancient technology of personal transformation. Its tools are remarkably simple, and yet, its effects are profound. The true power of yoga lies not in the strength and vitality it gives the physical body (though this is undeniable), but rather in the profoundly positive ways it can change...

Office Chair Advice by Rhino[_4_]
Are there any materials I can use on an office chair (either new or re-upholstered) that will not get it turned into a scratching post? I have two senior cats, both with all their claws, and Bebop in particular loves to use his claws on my office chairs. The front upper part of the...

Clicker training discussion thread by My2Kitties
I'm using a book to learn how to clicker-train my cats. I've been doing it for 5 days with Ebony, and 3 days with Blackie. The book I am using so far is "Getting Started Clicker Training for Cats," by Karen Pryor. We 3 have all learned a lot so far. My question is for anyone who's familiar and...

Why so angry? by gamincat[_2_]
I wonder what you all think about this. I have a female cat named Flaggie; she is 4 years old. (I also have two other female cats and all get along.) This is Flaggie's back story. A friend of mine had a stray cat show up in her backyard. She started putting out food for her and looked for the...

Unbelievable price for litter by John Doe[_2_]
http://www.chewy.com/tidy-cats-scoop-247-performance/dp/105877 A 40 pound box of Tidy Cats litter with free shipping for $11 (US). They have got to be kidding. It's been unbelievably low before, but that's just ridiculous. There is no way on Earth they can make a profit. So what are they doing?

Recycled car tire rubber for climbing material by John Doe[_2_]
We been using recycled car tire rubber 1/4 inch thick mat since March 2015. It works very well for climbing and it doesn't shed onto the floor. It was cut in strips and hot melt glued to 1x4s with about 1/2 inch hanging over each side. They have some trouble climbing down, like cats do on...
