Holiday cards, or the lack thereof by
Yowie
Every year, I promise myself that, like the car registration, and the
Christmas Shopping, I'll get the Christmas Cards done early to avoid the
stress at crunch time.
Yesterday, I finsihed all the Christmas shopping I could (one gift to go
that I can't get any other time besides Xmas eve wheter i...

Our Trip to Sydney Australia - Day 1 by
Julie Cook
I can't do our trip justice tonight because it is late and I'm getting
sleepy. But I thought I'd post a day at a time to share with you. I'll try
to post pictures within 24 hours of each installment so you can see what we
were up to.
We arrived in Sydney after 25 hours of travel time - the last 14...

I am SO owned by
Bridget
Among my three cats there are various degrees of ownership. There is
Tony who could not exist without me - but it goes beyond ownership.
There is a deep and undying love there that cannot be denied. He will
sell me out for catnip, but come bedtime (heck, any other time besides
catnip time) and...

Want to torture your cat? by
jmcquown
Make a chicken pot pie. Ooooh! Chicken! Persia was winding around my legs
as I put it together and she normally doesn't do that. But it was like a
magnet... oooh, mommy! It's da CHIK-EN! Thankfully, she doesn't jump on
the kitchen counters or I'd have had to thwack her with a spoon!...

My Mattie, My Rock by
Bridget
I swear this cat has more control over her personal mass than any other
cat I've ever known. Her preferred sleeping spot is on my side -
whichever one is up. She isn't really a big thing and she makes herself
fit just perfectly so I don't even notice her while I sleep. But woe
to me when I wake...

Territorial Issues by
CATherine
As Djoser gets older he is getting more territorial and possessive.
Even though he gets along well with Robin, he thinks Robin's territory
is Jeff's room. And Sheba belongs in the kitchen/dining/office room.
She has taken to sleeping in my chair at night; but often sneaks onto
the bed beside my...

Jack takes a ride by
[email protected]
Now, Jack is definitely a wild, woolly hoolikitten. And he is
apparently very happy with his recent adult kitty teeth.
We were letting he and Kate run around the apartment last night. We
had just gotten our tree for the season up, but so far, they're
leaving it alone.
I was walking downstairs...

Pepto Bismol or Kaopectate for diarrhea by
[email protected]
As I had written, my mom's cat with the sore on her right hind leg
developed diarrhea last Thursday. We thought it might be caused switching
her from Purina Pro Plan Chicken and Rice to Purina Pro Plan Sensitive Skin
and Stomach due to a persistent sore on her right hind leg.
She's back on Chicken...

Correographed Play by
CatNipped
Sammy has trained me so well!
When I sit on the commode with the door open (when I'm home alone or it's
just Ben and me), Sammy runs behind the open door and I have to play pawsy
with her by taking the hand towel off the sink and wiggling it along the
floor so she can stick her paw under the crack...

Request for Christmas/Holiday Memories by
Julie Cook
The stories in Yowie's White Christmas thread made me think that surely we
have some interesting holiday stories we can share and perhaps some even
involve cats.
I'll begin with a story that I think my brother would rather we all forget.
We lived on a cul-de-sac and the house across the street...

OT The company I work for was bought out by a Fortune 500 company today by
Cheryl
.... And I'm really nervous about change like this. I've worked for
this company since 1996. We don't know what will happen with our
stocks -- we are employee owned. We don't know if we'll all of a
sudden become "new" employees and lose our seniority. I'm especially
nervous about the retirement. I...

Brando's sick by
[email protected]
As I write this, my beloved big wonderful former feral baby, Brando,
is at the vet's. He had some blood in his urine, and terrible
diarrhea over 24 hours, so we took him into the vet yesterday. They
wanted to keep him overnight to get a urine sample.
I called them today, and they aren't sure...

Huge flocks of birds! [OT] by
Pat
I went for a walk this morning here on the farm, and suddenly there were so
many birds that the sky was nearly black! The birds were flying in huge
figure-eight patterns for a while when I noticed them. Must have been at
least 5,000 of them... The figure-eights were longer than a football...

I Have My Meowmy Trayned by

I like sitting on top of da big white box in da kitchen where I can
soopervise meowmy while she's kooking. But, it's an awfully big jump
from da dining room table, and Meowmy duzn't want me on da stove which
is rite next to da big white box. So I either klimb Meomy, or get on

May I Go?
May I go now?
Do you think the time is right?
May I say good-bye to pain filled days
and endless lonely nights?
I've lived my life and done my best,
an example tried to be.
So can I take that step beyond
