Rain in central Utah by mlbriggs
Purrs and prayers for rain in central Utah: According to the news tonight, central Utah had a heavy rain and as a result the 300,000 acre fire is 90 percent contained. They even had hail. They did not give a livestock report so we shall probably hear more tomorrow. MLB

Lifeline Animal Rescue in New Jersey by Pat
They've got so many sweet babies waiting for homes! Go to http://www.lifelinerescue.org/ and click "Cats for Adoption" link. New Jersey is a small state but it has 353 shelters listing with Petfinder. Amazing... How come so many NJ folks abandon their pets?

OT Save Harry Dresden by Karen
I know a couple of you like this show. No word has come on its fate yet, and though there are many rumors, SciFi continues to say no decision has been made. If you liked this show, please drop by the following site and see what you can do to help ensure a renewal. Harry Potter is going to be...

OT - talking about Harry Dresden by Irulan
While I do (did) watch the sci-fi channel series, I also got started to reading the novels. They are fantastic. I went through the 9 books that are available to date in about a week and it sometimes takes me that long to read one book. The tenth one is due in 2008 and I've already got that...

A breakthrough for Billy by Pat
I was swabbing out Abelard's ears a while ago when Billy got up on the sofa next to us to watch. As soon as Abelard was finished, Billy pushed his way in and *asked* me to swab out his ears (which didn't need to be swabbed at all) just for the *pleasure* of it. But this was just the beginning...

Purrs for rainmin central Utah by mlbriggs
May we have some purrs for rain in central Utah where 283,000 acres are on fire? Also for the wild animals that live in that area? Homes and building have also burned. Please send purrs for those who fight the fires too. All purrs will be sincerely appreciated. MLB

One Thousand Lurkers? by Sherry
This is really weird. Remember I posted the link to the kitten photos? I set up an account with Webshots just for that, and this is the only place I posted the link. I didn't even e-mail it to anyone else yet. The counter on the page says "1,041 Views". Does that mean there are a thousand people...

Lost Cat Painting Found by jmcquown
John's been up in Rochester clearing out the (mostly junk) from his mom's house. He had friends helping him. Dave yelled, "John, look what I found!" Oh good lord, it's a painting he did in 1968 of a cat! I have a photo of him standing next to it, see...

Mowsie by Christina Websell
Boyfie has caught a mouse and is actually eating it himself. He has never done that, he gives everything he catches to KFC, he has always claimed anything that isn't in a tin, foil tray, or pouch is inedible. I think we need a fanfare here. Tweed

He's half Great Dane, half Newfoundland. That mix should add up to an enormous dog, and a very nice one, too. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/main.jhtml?xml=/news/2007/07/11/ndog111.xml Theresa Stinky Pictures: http://community.webshots.com/album/125591586JWEFwh Make Levees, Not War

Heat in the US by Ann
Everyone be careful with the temperatures in the 90's or above. If you can put out extra water for the animals that don't have slaves to care for them. I had a squirrel drinking from my bird bath today. Ann -- read Sam's blog at http://kittens-3.blogspot.com/ see pictures of Sam at...

still no takers? by Irulan
No one has requested the RPCA book MYSTERY CATS that is being circulated. I will be happy to mail it to any country if anyone wants it. If nobody wants it right now I will hold on to it until someone does. If you want it, just email me back with your name/address and it's yours. Just forward it to...

Healing purrayers please by Karen AKA Kajikit
I pulled a muscle in my ribcage just over a week ago and it was rather painful when I took a deep breath but gradually healing... and yesterday afternoon I sneezed unexpectedly and felt something rip, and now I'm back to square one! I was whimpering at two o'clock this morning because I couldn't...

Feliway question by [email protected]
I've been using a Feliway diffuser for the past 5-6 weeks or so, and as I've posted before, it seems to help with the Smudge-Licky conflict, at least a bit. But I have a question. On the box, it says one refill container will last a month. I've noticed that it doesn't last anywhere near that...

almost done with cat book by Irulan
I am almost done reading MYSTERY CATS, a book which is part of the set being circulated in RPCA. Now, this is a bunch of short stories about cats involved in some sort of mystery or another. Some of the tales are downright creepy, but don't get me wrong, the cat always comes out on top at the...

A quick checking-in by Ginger-lyn
Thanks to everyone for their purrs. I couldn't figure out any help financially, so I did a crazy thing, and applied for a credit card. Probably put me in debt for life, but at least I got everything covered for now. Except boxes! I NEED boxes! Arrgghhhh! Still only have maybe 12 boxes...

OT (sorta) - Surprise at the Shelter this week by Magic Mood Jeep
As most of you know, I volunteer at our local Humane Association (which doesn't run the local animal shelter, but does share their building). When I got there this week, there was a large dog crate (the cage-type that you can use to cart-train your puppy, not the plastic pet-carrier type), on...
