Cats Are Very Shy Toileters by
[email protected]
Cats in general are very shy toileters and will often only pee or poop
in their litter box if it is placed in a quiet, secluded area, away
from family members and other animals. The importance of your cat
toileting regularly cannot be over-emphasized. Too often owners do not
provide their cats with...

It has been on year since Rumble was taken off the diazepam for his epilepsy

He is due for his curve soon that will be a nightmare again for I still

Liver by
Stacey Weinberger
Hi,
My cat Julian started throwing up late Wednesday afternoon and got very
lethargic. He's gotten upset stomachs before. Thursday he wasn't better
and I started giving him water by an eye dropper. He had stopped throwing
up. Friday I took him to the vet to check for blockages. The vet...

R.I.P. Peewee (1991-2007) by
-L.
By sweet boy is gone. I euthanized him today. He went pretty
quickly. This morning I took him out and sat on the steps with him,
and held him, petting his head and ears which he loved. He was
purring pretty heavily and really seemed to enjoy it. The vet came a
couple hours later, gave him a...

Hardwood floor refinishing and cats? by
Shaynelle
We have two 17 yr old cats and we are getting our hardwood floors
refinished next week. We humans have to move into a hotel for about
3-5 days but we don't know what to do with our cats. The hotel doesn't
take animals, and we can't stay in another hotel due to expense (its a
military hotel and 1/4...

A celebration of cats! by
[email protected]
Hi, fellow cat lovers,
I've owned cats for a long time, and I've always been fascinated
by these amazing little critters, and by how they came to forge such a
close bond with humanity. Recently, I recorded a little podcast
celebrating cats - called "The Lion In Your Lap" - which I thought...

I dunno who to call! by
[email protected]
I keep running into this poor little stray cat in my apartment
complex. He was born and raised here so far. I don't even think he's
too-too old yet. The poor little guy is so thin and pitiful looking.
And he's very hoarse. All the bigger strays I think beat him outta
any food he finds, and he...

Understanding cause and effect (and cystitis again, dammit!) by
jmc
Had this errant thought when I was taking Meep to the vet today...
Fact 1: Cats hide their illnesses as much as they can.
Fact 2: When good cat owners notice their cat is ill, they take the cat
to the vet.
The errant thought I had was, I wonder if domestic cats hide their
illness, not (only)...

What's wrong with Shelby by
mb from pa
Hello everyone. I am new here. My name is Mary. I have 3 cats
Mischief (who lives up to her name), Shelby and Fluffy. They drive us
all crazy, but we wouldn't have it any other way.
Shelby is acting a little bit funny. She seems to be licking her
bottom constantly. I also noticed today that...

Recall, Dino's sick, and had some recalled food! by
[email protected]
I had some Special Kitty, The brands and numbers on the lists
recalled. I stopped giving it to him as soon as I heard about it,
which was about the same day everyone did. He's been totally normal,
then got very lethargic the last few days, no appetite, seems to be
using the box fine though. I...

How much should I feed my cat by
Dom
I have one 35 lb cat (not on a diet) and a 12 lb cat. I give them 2
feedings a day. At each feeding they get a 3 oz can, so they each get
6 ounces a day, although the fat cat eats the other's food, so I'm
sure it is more like 5 vs 7 ounces a day.
Is this sufficient?

is a cat with waist but dropped belly overweight? by
[email protected]
Hello, I know one rule of thumb for overweight cats is: if the belly
drops below the ribs, cat overweight. Another is: if waist is
thicker than ribs, cat overweight. Well, both of my cats, have belly
dropped, but at the same the waists are indented, thinner than chest.
So, what gives? Do you...

Somehow you ended up in my killfile. I just realized it today when
Cybercat quoted you. I can assure you it was accidental(!!), but wanted to
let you know in case I haven't responded to any posts you have made to me
recently.
I better watch my itchy trigger finger on that killfile button. ...

no suppliers within 75 miles of my home. PetFoodDirect has given me
excellent service. Once you are on their mailing list, they e-mail frequent...
