The dangers of laptop computing by
Daniel Mahoney
I don't know exactly what the dangers are, but there must be some
horrible, awful, life-threatening dangers that are attached to running a
laptop computer with the computer in your lap.
That's the only reason why I can see that Amelia would be behaving as she
is. I can be sitting in my favorite...

Purrs for Wilson, pls by
Yowie
Some people may know Jean's cat, Wilson.
He's been very unlike himself, just hiding under the bed, not responding to
calls or food or anything. he didn't come out this morning, didn't want his
breakfast, just wanted to hide. He's six years old and usually a very
active, happy cat.
Jean has...

A few tips by
Yowie
For those of you who know the 'joy' of ripping one's own body hair out at
the roots via the means of a very sticky paste along the line of the hair
removal product "Nads", I have a few words of advice:
1) No matter what, make sure you are fully dressed.
2) Do NOT attempt to apply the stuff to...

Pickle by
Yowie
Suki, as you know, was named because he was such a 'sooky' puss, even though
Indigo was also a perfectly decent name. Pickle was the name that Cary chose
for the short haired cat previously known as Casper, Kunks & T.D. (in that
order). Pickle is a strange name, but he answered to it immediately...

Melba update #2 - going for surgery by
Susan M[_3_]
Thank you all for your purrs and thoughts.
Because she still hasn't eliminated and threw up this AM again, they
suspect perhaps a partial blockage and will just go in and do surgery to
get the biopsy and look around since the ultrasound detail wasn't
fantastic. So, she's going for surgery...

Shadow gave me headbutts by
Adrian[_2_]
When I went out to feed Shadow earlier he jumped down out of his bed and
gave a little meow and as I put his food down he headbutted my hand a couple
of times. :-)

Smokey Finds Religion by
Enfilade
And lo, at the dawn of the new year there came a miracle, a remarkable
delivery to Smokey the Poke.
In those days it was decided, one's daughter should not drink all the
Irish Cream, Sharidan's and Wild Africa herself, and so her parents
came for the celebration of the New Year.
And with them...

Please could I have some purrs? by
[email protected]
I hate to ask, but please could I have some good luck purrs? I could
really do with them as my first teaching job lies in the balance!....
Basically, I've been working on long term supply at a school, and at
this moment, the Headmaster and his Senior staff are discussing
whether or not to give me...

Thank you for all the cards! by
jmcquown
I was thrilled to be able to open all the holiday cards last night you
wonderful people sent to me. Persia got all indignant about the bits of fur
in some of them. LOL But for the most part she was simply happy I was home
and she wasn't in the smelly place anymore.
The post office played a...

More surgical purrs, please by
Daniel Mahoney
My mom has been having problems with her leg swelling for the last couple
days. This is the leg that was receiving radiation to treat the cancerous
growth in the bone. The doctor looked her leg over and booked her for
surgery tomorrow - apparently she has blood clots in that leg. The doc
will be...

How to travel with a cat by
jmcquown
I'm considering driving back to South Carolina with Persia, probably in
early March. And I'll be staying for an undetermined length of time. So
how do I transport Persia?
When I put her in her carrier she freaks out, like any cat does. She cries
and yowls and mews and complains. She just knows...

Bad morning by
Outsider
My aching rib made sleep difficult through the night, I tried to touch Lyle
this morning (first attemp in a week) and he ran away crying for his
brother and then I see this on the way to work: One cat huddles under a
car and clearly a littermate dead in the road. That was bad enough but
after...

Cali update by
Steve Touchstone
For those who have forgotten, back in May of 05 Spotty showed up on
the patio with her 4 kittens. Dr Haney, my TED, who has since retired,
took two of the boys for his own, and found a home for the third boy.
Cali, the only girl, eventually went home with on of my coworkers. At
the time I figured...

I got bited by
Adrian[_2_]
When I fed Shadow this morning he seemed even more friendly, I stroked him
quite a lot but when I forgot myself and tried to tickle him under his chin
he bit me. I expect he thought I was going to try and catch him, the only
time he bit me before is when I tried to put him in a carrier to take...
