KFC's weekend by Christina Websell
After I posted on Thursday about how well she was doing, she had a bit of an off day on Friday. She didn't really want to eat the expensive cat food, nor the tuna, nor the beef mince. So she didn't. Boyfie got to hoover up the tuna and the top-end cat food, he couldn't believe his luck...

I miss my Mutt by Baron Mind
Hi. I have never posted to this group before, but my wife Kyla has posted much and you may have read her posts. We have always had kitties and they have been our guardian angels. We have had some very special kitties over the years. One of the most unique was a stray we named Waldo, but his...

So sad :-( by Nanny[_4_]
You all remember the little red panda that was being fed by a mother cat here in Holland ? They found him dead yesterday morning. He'd choked on the milk, his trachea was filled with milk. What a tragic accident, especially since he was in a very good condition otherwise :-( Nanny

New carpet and cancer by Sharon
Seems I have heard somewhere that kitties can get cancer from something in new carpet. We are going to begin building a new home and I would like to know what to avoid. Is there a certain carpet treatment to avoid? A certain chemical? Any help will be greatly appreciated! Sharon

Kitty Kommotion Karma by Kreisleriana[_3_]
I had insomnia last night, couldn't sleep for beans. And either the boys chose last night to be extra-boisterous, or I was wide awake enough to "appreciate" something I usually miss because I'm asleep. But anyway, as I was tossing and turning, Dante was a thundering around the house. I got...

OT - Recognize These Symptoms? by Enfilade
I'm going to the doctor tomorrow or the day after (I'm working three insane shifts: 12 pm to 8 pm, 11 pm to 6:30 am, and 7:15 to 1 pm - close to 24 hours straight of awake working.) I can't find any info on the net: I don't even know what to search for. Anyone here have an idea? --Constant...

OT, but funny. Taken from alt.fan.heinlein by tanadashoes
Posted by Coonass http://www.denverpost.com/headlines/ci_9881943 In a move eerily reminiscent of Norman Spinrad's classic SF short story "The Arsenal of Entropy," a draft law proposed by the Denver Police Department would ban the possession by protesters (at this August's Democratic National...

OT We have a saying... by Marina
We have a saying in Finland: Vanhuus ei tule yksin (old age does not arrive alone). It means you have to be prepared for all the little 'friends' that come with old age - aches and pains, problems with your memory, absent-mindedness... Though I have to confess, I've always been absent-minded,...

He ran! by Pat[_2_]
Today for the first time since he took ill on the 8th of May, Abelard felt good enough to RUN -- not very fast, more of a "bounding through the tall grass" sort of gait, but it sure is an indicator of a cat regaining his balance and confidence. I'm happy for him.

He gorged! by Pat[_2_]
I think Abelard is realizing that he needs to eat more. Today I locked him up with an open 5.5-oz. can of Friskies, and when I went to let him out, the can was nearly empty! Normally he eats only about half a can at a time. This is a performance I hope will be repeated daily for a while to come....

What is wrong with the boys? by Victor Martinez
Basho and Issa, that is. I stopped at the market on the way home from work and noticed they had an "all natural, no nitrites or preservatives" ham on sale. I thought I'd get a treat for the kids, so I got a few slices of said natural ham. Rufous almost knocked me over as I was dividing the ham...
