[OT] Survey, just for the fun of it by
[email protected]
I found this in an old email and thought folks here might have some
fun with it. Feel free to embellish answers, avoid questions, and make
up outright lies if it entertains you. :) Oh, and I'll post my answers
soon, too, but I thought it would be easier for folks to respond if
they didn't have to...

Mooch's world-wide fan club by
Bobcat
Several times I've posted here at RPCA about the adventures of Mooch,
our little tuxie resident stray who shows up regularly on our veranda
for meals (see the most recent thread, "Mooch gets friendly". Someone
nicknamed "Treeline has asked several questions about him, and then
today "Lesley" in the...

[OT] Experiences with Xylitol (sugar substitute)? by
Monique Y. Mudama
Someone pointed me to Xylitol as a sugar substitute, particularly for
baking. It apparently has dental benefits and fewer calories than
sugar. This person said that she has even made a creme brule that
turned out beautifully. I think she said that, in a recipe calling
for sugar, she uses half...

OT - The Turtle by
Magic Mood Jeep©
Last week I wrote about how DH saved a chipmunk from certain death on the
side of the road.
Yesterday, we were able to save a turtle from death as it crossed a road.
We were driving along, less than a mile from our home, when DH starts
cursing, swerves and pulls over to the side of the road (I...

Lester - Thursday Update by
Arthur Shapiro
Appreciate all the concern, folks...this is a fairly serious sickness.
Got to the vet last night with little trouble, somewhat surprisingly, and
received lessons on tube-feeding. Got him home by about 7 pm. He was fairly
teetery, but staggered to his favorite coverered litter box, got...

Rabies Shots by
Sharon
Is there a rabies vaccination for cats that lasts longer than a year?
I thought there was a 3 or 5 year vaccination. The local vet says
no. This is for a feral cat that is really hard to catch on a yearly
basis!
Thanks!

HELP! Stinky in the paint by
Kreisleriana
Well, he did it. He got into the paint. Actually, he went and jumped
up on his favorite windowsill while the paint was still wet. He got
it on his paws, his butt and tail, and made little white pawprints all
over.
So here's where I need help! How do I safely get the paint off him?

Catfood - Sheba ?? by
JJ[_2_]
Our two cats, Edgar and Agatha, have always been picky eaters. They like
fish stuff, especially with gravy and cheddar in it. When they first came,
two years ago (they're brother and sister, about 4 now) we tried Fancy Feast
and quickly discovered that if it was "classsic" (pate), they looked...

Sleepy cat by
Dan Mahoney
My brother's elderly Siamese kitty Samantha has always been fond of
sleeping, and it's not unusual for her to stay in bed for 12 hours at
a time. But yesterday and today things hit a new peak.
Yesterday Samantha spent all day sleeping on the front porch. This
morning the county animal control guy...

My neighbor, owned by Fedders (RB) and Schwartzie, called to ask if I
could take care of Schwarty (nickname) while she's gone for a week and a
half, maybe two.
She's moving! Putting her house up for sale and scouting an area closer
to her son, DIL and grandkids.
The problem is, he's a...

Baggy was trying to wee last night and couldn't, this morning he still
hadn't used his box and was very distressed. I took him straight to the vet
where he still is, they're going to give him an anaesthetic and catheterise
him. I've got to ring them this afternoon to see how he is and when I...

Since I've reached the stage in life where I've been reading the obits
to see if I'm on the list yet, in reading them this morning I found
one a bit unusual. A beloved lady had passed on and, of course,
there was a list of survivors - - husband, son, step-sisters and

Perfect Sunday Morning (long) by
Steve Touchstone
Got up early this morning, well at least early for a Sunday. Even
after 10 years after retirement from the Army, I still wake up about 5
most mornings. Most of the time I just turn over and go back to sleep,
but this morning Sammy noticed me awake and decided it was a perfect
time for some quality...

There was I, curled up on the sofa, with cat curled up on my lap, doing what
any self-respecting cycling fan does at this time of year... I'm ogling the
Lycra-clad, pert, muscular, perfectly-toned rear ends of the men on carbon
and aluminium as they cycle the latest stage of Le Tour de France....
