Slight progress by Baby by dgk
Since Marlo has been isolated in the spare bedroom, there has been some slight but clear progress by Baby. She actually follows me into the bathroom, where cat feeding is normally accomplished. Before this I brought her food under the bed or wherever she is hiding. She likes sitting on the...

Another update on Marlo's overgrooming by dgk
I made an appointment with the behavioral specialist, but that isn't until October. Apparently cat behavior can be perplexing - who would have guessed? I took her to her regular vet, but there was a new vet there and she had some interesting ideas. First, we need to get her a urine culture just in...

A Birthday Gift by jmcquown[_2_]
My SO sent me this lovely drawing of Buffy for my birthday. (July 26th) https://s32.postimg.org/jh8xddypx/buffy_painting.jpg Sorry it's not terribly clear, it's difficult to scan a framed piece of artwork. Jill

Cat Five - Rainbow Bridge - August 3, 2016 by [email protected][_2_]
I haven't been here in many years as our ISP stopped carrying Usenet and the Google web format is such a pain. Tonight we had to help our beloved DSH brown tabby girl Cat Five across the Rainbow Bridge and we are in agony. She developed IBD a few years ago and we dealt with that through...

Cat Nicknames? by jmcquown[_2_]
I'm sure we all have nicknames for our cats, outside of their actual names. Buffy is a domestic shorthair, a striped orange tabby. Typical moggie with an 'M' on her forehead. :) Short hair, yes. Thick fur, wow! I've recently taken to calling her Fluffy McBuffypants. Or Buffy McFluffypants. ...

yodel is driving me nuts with the meowing :) by Matt Ferrari[_3_]
How much am i supposed to feed this critter? he jumps on my bed anywhere from 3am to 5am and meows and bumps his nose on my eyes until i get up and feed him. But then he does that every time he hears a can open in the kitchen. I also think he wants to get outside really bad. I'm not willing to...

He's come a long way, baby! by Joy[_3_]
Sometimes I hardly recognize Koala, my little feral cat. When I first got him, he hid most of the time. Once he started coming out where he could be seen, he ran every time I took a step toward him. Eventually he got over that, and then he would let me pet him, but only if he were on the...

Trying to keep meowmie in by Christina Websell
Boyfie prefers me to stay in the house all the time. He can go out, of course, but likes me to be there when he comes back. I wanted to go out today, he sneaked out in front of me and sat in front of my car. I said to him "look, Boyfie, I do need to go out sometimes" and invited him back into...

Spicey is free by Takayuki
As Spicey left behind her sickly body, she suddenly felt so light and unburdened. "I'm free, I'm free!" she exclaimed to herself. But something prompted her to glance back at her former life and world, and her hoomin, now racked with sobs. "Wow, what's wrong with Daddy? He sure is a mess today....

More on Marlo by dgk
Not really good news on the overgrooming. She's alreadly licked the middle of her abdomen bare, all the way to her butt, and she even has fairly well denudded the inside of her rear legs. The cone is supposed to prevent that but I noticed yesterday that she's managing to lick the very lower abdomen...

Feeding Cats Separately by dgk
Before yesterday, I just put out wet food in two bowls in the bathroom, and had two bowls of dry food out all the time. The four cats came by at different times, ate, left, came back, ate, etc. That pretty much worked, particularly for feral Baby who slinks by late at night or whenever no one is...

The end of Spicey's story by Takayuki

theres a new cat in town and hes a goofy clone by Matt Ferrari[_3_]
Yodel . about 2 years old. He's a rescue cat and vetted and microchipped. I expected him to hide for a while but hes all over. I hope he can get some rest. I picked him because he looks like goofy. http://lemons.rf.gd/yodel/yodel6-25-16.jpg
