Fleas. by
dgk
I knew it. A few weeks ago I mentioned that my cats never seem to get
fleas. So naturally I'm running my fingers through some fur and feel
little granules. I pluck a few out, they're like black sand. Odd, they
haven't even been outside in days, where would they be rolling in
dirt? But I call the...

The Masked Nommer by
Magic Mood Jeep
Well, several weeks ago somekitty gnawed on the cord that goes from my
headphone jack on my laptop (main computer) to my external speakers,
totally ruining the cord and thereby making the speakers useless (they
were hardwired, so no just replacing the cable). I had since using the
tinny-sounding...

Dot and Buster meet Spicey in her carrier by
Takayuki
Dot and Buster met Spicey today on her way to the vet. My first problem
getting Spicey to the vet, of course, was getting her into a carrier - I
can't handle her, so I had to resort to trickery.
I tossed a treat into her carrier. She went after one, but it was too
shallow, and she ate it with half...

Glass gate to Spicey's domain by
Takayuki
Not seeing any particular reason not to let Spicey be seen by Dot and
Buster anymore, I set up this glass barrier to the upstairs.

Spicey has full run and confidence in her upstairs domain. To Dot and
Buster, the staircase...

Betty's advice by
Takayuki
10:41 AM and I was at my desk reading project plans. Sigh. My mind turns to
Spicey. I need advice. I call to RB Betty.
Me: Betty, listen to me my love. What should I do?
Betty: Disassociate. Wait, observe, gather information, draw conclusions.
Me: My current conclusion is that there are lots of...

Spicey explores by
Takayuki
Lately, Spicey seems to feel cooped up in her bedroom, and will usually
greet me at the door - then walk off past me. She already explored a couple
of the other rooms upstairs yesterday, so she trotted off in the other
direction today until she encountered the top of the stairs.
What will you do,...

lab test results pending.

bed time routine by
ann791
Peter has a bed time routine with the cats. He goes up stairs and will
lay on the bed and call Sawmise to come up and see him. He started this
years ago to get Samwise to bond with him. After Samwise gets on the bed
Peter will pet him and them Sam gets a snack in the computer room.

Spicey's demand by
Takayuki
When I opened the door to Spicey's room today, I got an unexpected
response. She hissed, came right up to the door, and tried to come after me
through the crack!
Spicey pulled at the door with her paw, tried to headbutt her way through,
and finally gave a couple of swipes through the opening. I...

Spicey's TED exam by
Takayuki
So as you can tell from the photos, Spicey was surprisingly, a perfect
little angel at TED. I warned them that they may be using their worker's
comp, but they said they'd prefer not to sedate her on a weekend due to
their limited hours, and anyway, they can check her behavior better if
she's...

Now I'm angry by
Mark Edwards
Now, I'm ANGRY. Senyah told me that Miss Emily was outside earlier
today. She was lounging in a tree in the courtyard outside our living
room window. Until someone (Senyah didn't see who) went over and shook
the tree until Miss Emily either fell out or jumped down, then ran off.
If *I* find out...

Suspicions about Spicey by
Takayuki
Having had a chance to observe Spicey for several days has reinforced my
initial impression that Spicey does not look like a normal healthy 9.5 year
old cat. I know for a fact that that is her age, yet she really looks like
she's carrying a lot more wear on her body than that.
What do I see wrong...

I received a precious gift tonight by
Mark Edwards
I received a precious gift tonight.
Usually, Apache complains when I pick her up, and struggles to get down
after a few seconds.
Tonight, no complaints. I was holding her like a baby, kissing her and
sweet talking her while rubbing her tummy. This time she was making air
biscuits and I THINK I...

Mat removal by

Tiger had developed a big mat on his chest. While I was giving him his
morning brushing with the Zoom Groom, I grabbed the electric clippers
and removed the mat. He didn't fight me at all.

Happy to see me by
Mark Edwards
Senyah told me that Apache has spent most of the afternoon running to
the back door, with the cat equivalent of, "He's home! He's home! He's
home!" and she kept telling Apache I wasn't due home yet.
Finally, I got home, Apache greeted me at the door, then ran into the
living room and gave...

OT the Senior Citizens Playgroup by
Christina Websell
So I thought I should get out more so I went along to it. We play scrabble
and dominoes and can do jigsaws if we want to, some are doing a 1000 piece
which will take them weeks as we only have two hours.
They are all nice. I was demolished at dominoes last week by a 90 yo.
I am by far the...
