Blow-waving Fluffy SP by Bev
FluffySP is not the brightest star in the heavens. It was teeming with rain this morning but yes yes yes, she wanted to go out badly - and so did B & C. B & C lasted all of four minutes before they screamed inside shaking raindrops of their delicate little selves. But not FluffySP! ...

Sleepy cat by Dan Mahoney
My brother's elderly Siamese kitty Samantha has always been fond of sleeping, and it's not unusual for her to stay in bed for 12 hours at a time. But yesterday and today things hit a new peak. Yesterday Samantha spent all day sleeping on the front porch. This morning the county animal control guy...

shaving eyebrows by yelli
I was reading in "Shrinking the Cat" by Sue Hubbell that according to Herodotus, who wrote "the Histories", in ancient Egypt when a cat died a natural death, the inhabitants of that house used to shave their eyebrows. I was just wondering if anyone knows why these people did that.

Another Sleepy Cat Story by Tanada
Dan Mahoney's story abut Samantha reminded me of a story my MIL tells. When their neighbors sold their house and moved, they left behind a cat named TJ. TJ took their leaving him in stride, moving into Rob's parent's carport and making himself at home. TJ was a gray, scruffy looking longhair,...

More job purrs by Dan Mahoney
Boy, this is starting to sound like a broken record... I've posted in the past about my wife's employer talking about making her a regular employee instead of the contractor she is now, then telling her that they wouldn't be able to offer her regular employment, etc. Seems like the powers that be...

36 more days by Jo Firey
By the time her baby is ready to go, Momma cat won't object in the least. Most of them seem to get sick and tired of their babies by the time they are 8 to 10 weeks old. -- Jo Firey "Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away." "Stacey"...

Job Interview Purrs? by Seanette Blaylock
I just got a phone call from a prospective employer. The interview is in 24 hours . OK, the pay isn't quite what I hoped for, but it's enough for our needs for now and there are good future possibilities IMO. Purrs for a good interview? I know I'd be a very good employee, the part that's uncertain...

Bruiser and the toad by John Biltz
I lost sight of Bruiser last night, happens all the time. I don't stare at him all night. I check for him every five minutes or so. Of course he was not where he was supposed to be and he had found something wonderful and strange, a toad. A really big toad actually. The toad seemed pretty...

I have a visitor by wafflyDIRTYcatLITTERhcsBOX
I have a visitor… Whilst out cycling tonight, the Unfit Family was pootling along the quiet lanes of Norfolk when "Meeeeow!!" It ran out from the side of the road. A black and white cat. We are in the middle of relative nowhere. This is an adult cat which is very friendly. There are no...

yet another foster kitty! by [email protected]
I'm fostering another kitty! This one's an adult, female, I'm not sure how old, but she seems youngish, maybe a year or two. I won't have her for too long, though - I only took her for a few days so she wouldn't have to go back to boarding. The poor thing was in boarding for a week, and in a...
