Gerda's grave (OT) by Pat
Didn't have time for a long visit (will do it properly next time) but I did visit the spot where mare & foal are buried. Biggest grave I've ever seen. Live flowers have been planted at both ends. The dirt is subsiding so it will need to have more dirt tossed on top. Gerda's best friend, "Last...

Senator Bill Frist: Dr. Mengele to Cats by guess
I came across this article in another newsgroup, I imagine most of you might have already seen this but it was news to me. The only reason this selfish prick is apologizing is because of politics. Sorry for the harsh words but just the thought of someone as cruel and selfish as him possibly...

UPDATE on Sandy by JBHajos
Thank you all for your purrs and good wishes for our Sandy-dog. We brought her home Thursday after six days in the hospital. As feared, she *is* near the end of her road. Her kidney function is at 20-30%; the vets worked hard to turn her around but nothing can be done now except "paliative...

You're being watched! by Bobcat
Ever look up, and discover your cat is staring at you? Of course. It's one of their specialities. Here are two examples of that common phenomenon. http://www.comics.com/comics/chickweed/archive/chickweed-20060326.html http://www.flippyscatpage.com/thatstare.html

I can see it now...... by Mischief
The evil glares i'm going to get tonight and tomorrow. Tonight i'll feed the cats at 7 pm, but promptly at 8 pm the food will be pulled, and if they are still hungry too bad. Mayhem is going in tomorrow for a dental cleaning and is not to have any food after 8 pm tonight. So Imp and Mischief...

Kiss and Makeup? by Mischief
Mischief and Mayhem were hissing at each other this morning, so i decided to grab both of them I had one cat under each arm and put them nose to nose. "You two stop it RIGHT NOW!! You two kiss and make up and stop this fighting!!" They both glared at each other. I gently shook them both and...

Nyah nyah by Kreisleriana
Stinky is sitting in my lap right now, while I work at the keyboard, all curled up and purring up a storm, and kneading away. He is a lapful. ;) Dante is whacking a bottle cap around the floor, and as he whizzes by, Stinky pokes his head up and gives a little growl. Nyah nyah, I've got Mommy...

Purrs and prayers again, if y'all don't mind by Irulan
Wednesday is our day in court. We would like to ask for purrs and prayers that things go our way, and even if they don't, that things don't get so bad for us and we get a little break. It's not the end of the world, but going to court if you're the one being sued is not pleasant in the least...

My Meowmie took me to TED! by Shiral
I knew it was bad news when she brought out TWO carriers. Unka Pan has to go to da TED more often than me and Mama, so at first, I didn't know which of us was supposed to get in. I managed to get away from Meowmie after her first attempt to stuff me into one carrier and I hid under the quilt on...

grandma, england, etc by Enfilade
First up, thank you for the purrs. My grandmother's condition has not only stabilized, she's perked up and we had a good conversation on the phone (not just me talking at her). Secondly, I'm going on a trip to Newcastle, UK to present an academic paper at a conference, so I'll be gone for a...

Basement cats by Susan M
Otis has been terrible at night again. He gets up first at 2 AM and then at 6:30 AM. My face and collar bone have little scratches from him trying to get my attention. Fred and I are exhausted all the time. The boys have been in the basement for the last two nights and we've slept really well. ...

Tooth-pulling purrs by Christine Burel
If ya'll could spare a few purrs for poor Midnight and Robin's recovery from the dentist -- Middie had to have 1 tooth pulled and Robin had to have 2 pulled due to something called "neck lesions," which I guess is a fancy word for decay at the gumline. Wah -- both are staying overnight...

If you want a/nother cat.... by Pat
Give strong consideration to getting a Maine Coon, because they sing. We don't know absolutely for sure that Billy is a Maine Coon, but I believe he is. He sings just like my RB Cotton, who was a MC. He sounds almost like a bird at times.

How many times a day should I feed Tessie? by Karen AKA Kajikit
I put the bowl back on the dresser yesterday after they knocked it off the cat tree... I just heard scrunching sounds and thought 'good Tessie's having lunch' but then I swivelled my head and saw black fur on the bench, and grey fur up on the dresser... wrong cat eating! Silver's way too pudgy...

This made my day, and more by Pat

The neighbors' dogs by Pat
In the house closest to mine lives a couple and three dogs. Their yard is not fenced, so the dogs only get to go out with the people, and mostly only when they need to relieve themselves. I did not realize until the other night that they are letting their dogs poop in my yard. I realized it because...
