beginning they helped out a lot but are doing nothing now.

[OT] fridge life of cooked mushrooms? by
Monique Y. Mudama
About a week ago we added sauteed green onions and mushrooms, as well
as grilled bell peppers and zucchini, to spaghetti sauce (the kind in
a plastic jar).
I was thinking that with no meat, it would still be good, but someone
told me that mushrooms go bad in 2-3 days.
Thoughts? Do I need to toss...

Can cats consume lactose-free milk? by
informer
I heard that it's not good to give cats a saucer of milk. I then read
somewhere that the problem lies in the lactose content. So, can cats
consume lactose-free milk without getting sick?

Mad kitty! by
Singh
Odessa has been throwing a holy tantrum since we found her last night.
Usually a sound daylight sleeper, she was awake when Louie came home for
lunch, prowling about the computer room, knocking books off the shelves,
tearing up the bed, and saying very unprintable things. She's been
snotty since we...

[OT] Bikini Waxing by
CatNipped
Does anyone do it themselves???
I usually just shave, but my daughter said waxing is *much* better (never
any razor burn or bumps, no stubble, etc.), so I figured I'd give it a try.
Not having 100% visual access to the site I wanted waxed, I thought to
enlist DH's help (OK, in retrospect, it was...

Bad Neighbors & Morganna Update by
Ginger-lyn Summer
Last week, the one horrible neighbor was finally evicted. You would
think that would be the end of it, wouldn't you? But no, he had not
made plans (in spite of plenty of warning) for his "stuff", so he and
his buds hung around most of the time for several days, until it
rained and ruined anything...

Do cats get strep throat? by
Victor Martinez
I've been running a fever since Saturday, and when I went to the doctor
she said it was probably strep throat. I got antibiotics and told to
take it easy and drink lots of fluids. I'm staying at home today because
I had a terrible night and I'm pretty sure I'm contagious. Question. Can
I give...

My cat is afraid of her dish! by
Karen
I have NO idea what happened between noon and 6 pm today, but Pearl is
afraid of dishes! I went to feed her as usual and she was ultra cautious
about approaching her dish and she finally got her nose to the food and then
jumped back and wouldn't eat. Now, she had a furball come up a bit later so
I...

Lids for Fancy Feast by
Sharon
Does anyone have a source for lids that fit Fancy Feast cans? My lids
are tearing and I can't find anything that works. Even the ones that
say they fit multiple size cans are too big for Fancy Feast.

A Pair of Cat's Names by
Flippy
Okay, I need a pair of cat's names. Two kittens, probably littermates, about
3 months old. The boy is black/white, the girl is grey/white. They belong to
my neighbor but tonight they are staying with me because I want to take them
for their vaccinations. (The neighbour wouldn't bother with...

OT. Rant by
Christina Websell
I'm very upset. I've mailed for quite a few years to an American woman that
I knew from my chicken group. We got on pretty well.
Last year she forwarded me a mail that I considered to be racist, but it was
only a few hours before I was due to fly to visit my German friend, so I
mailed a...

Ping: Tweed - OT chickens by
MaryL[_2_]
I thought of you when I heard a local news report last night. We have a lot
of people in this area who keep a few backyard chickens, and the report
talked about a woman who has a small business as a "chicken sitter." So,
just as I use a pet sitter when I go on vacation (or once when I was in...

Mom [OT] by
David Stevenson
I find it most annoying when little brats in American TV series refer
to "My Mom" or say something sick-making like "I love my Mom".
What I am curious about is the word 'Mom'. Is that what children
actually say? for that matter do they say that yucky word in England
nowadays?
If anyone wonders...

Cats lethargic after shots? by
J J Levin
Our two cats, Edgar and Agatha, got rabies and distemper shots yesterday,
and in the evening became very sleepy and lethargic. They hardly ate, they
did use their litterbox, but all they want is to lie down and sometimes
sleep. They didn't move all night.
This morning, it was the same. Just...

Smudgie is Lost! by

I would really appreciate some GYFBH purrs please. Yesterday evening Smudgie
chased a cat over our fence and kept on running. She has never been out of
the garden before so I am super worried. I have been walking the streets
calling her name and shaking her food box but no luck. She is scared...
