Can't take it anymore by
Pat
Last month when I got my electric bill it was for usage Sept. 25 thru Oct.
23. I expected it to be lower than the previous bill, because the big heat
wave had ended in mid-September and I had quit using so many fans. But no,
it was 70kwh higher than the bill for the prior month. I asked about it...

OT - Chronic Pain Management Experience? by
CatNipped[_2_]
It's been a month since my spinal surgery and, unfortunately, the pain has
not gone away - which pretty much means there was irreversible nerve damage
done (and I won't get into all those doctors I went to for 2 years who said
nothing could be done, which prolonged the time the nerve was...

Cats are not like windows by
Shirley
I've been taught a valuable lesson today......
This morning I thought I would have an extra 15 mins in bed reading
but Smudge had other ideas, she walked over to my book and head butted
it until I put it down to give her a scritch, then she laid down on
it.
This evening as I was watching TV and...

Lorelei is afraid of me :( by
Gandalf[_2_]
I have finally figured out WHY Lorelei likes to hide in the basement or
my bedroom: Lorelei is afraid of me.
It explains everything: why she shies away if I move too quickly near
her. Why she jumps if I make noise near her.
Why she hides from me :(
I think the son of the woman who gave me the...

OT My turkey... by
Baha via CatKB.com
...was unarguably the ugliest thing I have ever in my life pulled out of an
oven.
We began with The Brine. Louie put together a witches' brew of chicken broth,
apple cider, honey, maple syrup, salt and ginger ale with spices, and after
letting the SOB soak overnight we found he was not only...

OT VENT: I am a Target. by
[email protected]
I have had this problem all my life but it is *always* worse during the
holidays. Crazy people want to talk to me. Strangers. In public.
Sorry to be so OT, but this is bugging me. I need to figure out what it
is about me that causes them to single *me* out.
Today it happened twice. Once exiting Wal...

Betty's oncology visit by
Takayuki
Last night, I must have been in the bargaining phase of mourning,
because I made a plea to whoever might be listening, if anyone was
listening...
I asked that Betty's life be spared. In return, I offer my own life.
A life for a life is fair, isn't it? It's not that I don't love my
life. I want...

Catnip styles by
Dan M
For the last couple of months Amelia has feeling very put-upon by the
large number of kittens in the house (she seems to think that two kittens
is two kittens too many). She's generally been expressing her displeasure
with occasional bitchy-cat hisses at Sammy and Tabitha, but this morning
she...

Two Lumps by
Mischief
I'm not talking about Two Lumps the comic strip, although I've
bookmarked that site and I really like it. :)
Today in one of the cages in the treatment room there's a bunch of
blankets, a water dish and a litter tray. No cat can be seen, but
there are two lumps under the blanket. According to...

Healing purrs desperately needed by
Bettina
Leo - one of the four little ones who were put in a cardboard box in
front of my house mid december 2007 might have a pneumonia. Since
yesterday I see him breathing heavily and can`t do anything about it
as he doesn`t allow me near to him. He, from the start, was the one
who doesn`t come nearer as...

Goodbye by
David Stevenson
As I expect you remember I posted a humorous little article a month or
two ago, and was immediately attacked by Gandalf. Technically, I
suppose, the attack was on my wife. One reason given for this
unprovoked attack was that Gandalf had suffered a loss.
We have all lost cats, or dogs or...

Betty is gone by
Takayuki
My poor, poor baby is gone. She was so wonderful and loving. She was
so beautiful, even in the end. And I feel so haunted by the horror of
watching her die. She was such a good little kitty, and never did
anything wrong! She didn't deserve any of this!
I can't believe she's gone. I've been...

Smudge is too nice! by
[email protected]
Suddenly, Smudge has become a very cuddly kitty. She's always been
friendly, following me from one room to another, curling up in the
general area whenever I settle down, and often lying on top of me if
I'm on my side on the couch, or in bed.
But all of a sudden, in the past 2-3 days, she's been...

Our New Year's Eve by
Julie Cook
DH and I have for many years stayed at home on New Year's Eve and had a
small party with just us and the cats. We did the same this year. I
started getting the party ready by setting up a small folding table that
I have and placing a nice lace tablecloth over it. I went into the
kitchen to...

Kitten vs Racoon by
[email protected]
My 6 month old named Donny had a confrontation with a racoon. He was
outside and I was inside sleeping when he made the most unbelievable
screaming noise. I was quite surprised he could make such a sound and
I went right out to see what's up and saw the racoon running away. By
the time I got my...

Dusty is loosing a tooth! by
TJ and The Dust
Egads, this cat is falling apart! Today one of his lower canine teeth just fell
over. It is hanging out his mouth in a most snaggletooth kinda way. It doesn't
seem to bother him. He let me touch it. I thought I might be able to pull it
out but it didn't come out to easily. He wolfed down a...

Massive monster migraine :( :( by
Pat
My New Year gift? Woke up with a head so big and pain filled, you'd think I
had really tied one on last night. But no, I stayed home with the furballs
and didn't have a drop of alcohol. There were eight deers in the yard at
dusk, maybe it's their fault, cuz I stared at them and strained my eyes.

Stray update. TW by
Helen Miles
Thanks for all the purrs guys. Unfortunately, there was nothing anyone
could do because the poor little chap had no bladder control left. I
made the decision to have him go to Rainbow Bridge rather than live
without dignity confined in a cage.
I'm gutted.
