Guarding The Loot by John Kasupski
If you were to pick up the blanket Minnie is lounging on in this picture and shake it out, you'd end up with a scene similar to what Jill posted earlier today - cat toys everywhere - plus a cat that wasn't pleased with you for chasing her off what she clearly regards as her blanket...

Cat in the bedroom, first time ever by Christina Websell
I've been having a bit of a problem with pain in my back when I wake up in the morning, so much so that it hurts enough to make it difficult for me to get out of bed. I wondered if it might be my bed, which is probably due for replacement. I decided to sleep in the other bedroom last night, nice...

Regarding Fuzzies by Tanada
I had scanned a couple of covers into my computer and tried to post them on my yahoo pictures account, but of course I failed. :-( So I went into http://amazon.com and found their H. Beam Piper collection and, apparently a bunch of them are being re-printed. YEAH!!! I copied the covers and put...

Gertie Ferret may have a friend.... by Helen Miles
My brother and I went to the local RSPCA animal shelter today to look at ferret friends for Gertie. We were introduced to a very friendly big albino boy with red eyes called Barney, who was a bit put out at being woken up. He was gorgeous. He was built like a brick out house, and about twice the...

[OT] The longest 10 minutes of my life by Yowie
Nothing terribly out of the ordinary for a Thursday evening. Joel made dinner, we ate it and were sitting around watching TV. "We need need bread for tomorrow" he said. "Ok, I'll go out, I need to get a few more fish anyway," I replied, as the last of my neons was floating upside down in my...

What a Run-Around by CatNipped[_2_]
Suddenly, the same recruiter DH had been talking to miraculously found a *different* job than the original night-shift one. This new job's hours were either 6a to 3p, 7a to 4p, or 8a to 5p. How great was that?! He went to the interview with the recruiter Tuesday and came to pick me up acting...

Can you believe it? OT by Christina Websell
I have to yet another operation. I went to see my shoulder surgeon at the LRI today to get the results of my ultrasound and nerve conduction tests that I had done a while ago. The ultrasound was to see if the ligaments were intact and they are, so good news there. The nerve conduction test showed...

Strange days in SoCal by The New Other Guy
VERY strange. Hit 99 degrees here today, previous record was 87. Oddly enough, on Sept. 9th, EXACT same record temp was reached, AND exact same previous record was broken! Strangest thing was that I had a cat AND a dog inside with me today.

Weekly Weigh-in by Magic Mood Jeep©
Using Catnipped's *FABULOUS* Excel spreadsheet, I have been keeping track of the Enormous Eight on a weekly basis (mainly due to Tennessee weighing in at a whopping 16 pounds a month ago!) Ernie is 13lb 15oz (up 2 oz from last week)(total loss* is 3oz) Lizzie is 8lb 15.5oz (down .5 oz)(total loss*...

He grabbed the spoon by W. Leong
This morning I spooned canned cat food onto Rusty's dish. Afterwards, I let him lick the leftover on the spoon. He grabbed the spoon with his paw and ate from it. When he dropped some, he let go of the spoon and ate from the floor before going back to the spoon. He looked so cute I wish I had a...

Cats and Human Food by vicky
Hello everyone, I have two 12 week old adorable bundles of chaos, who like most kittens are into everything and anything (regardless of whether they are supposed to be or not. I have had cats before but never ones who will actually seek me out to try to eat my food (and I mean whatever you eat!) ...

Nose Rubs by jmcquown
Persia likes to have the bridge of her nose rubbed. She comes up to me when she's feeling particularly snuggly and if I pat the top of her head she turns her face up so I can rub the bridge of her nose. She starts purring like mad. This leads to her rubbing her face on my hand and...

(OT) Nice online game you might enjoy by Petra Zinnen
Hi all, I learned, there are some readers/posters in this NG who sometimes like to play a little, not too time consuming game. Maybe, some of you haven't heard about this one, I'm suggesting. It's called Travian www.travian.com, a browser based game, where you can act as either Roman, Teuton, or...

Dave Gerecke's Dad by Yoj
Dave sent this yesterday evening: Saw him several times today - he is very very tired but is glad that the worst is over. The ETT is gone and so are some of the other tubes. He had a very light lunch and a light dinner - he remembers the ice cream. :) dave

On a happier note... by Christine Burel
Since it seems there is more sad news today, I just wanted to share that two absolutely sweetheart kitties found a new home with a nice young man while I was working with the junior animal humane group in the cat room on Saturday. Their names are Gris (a extremely affectionate gray longhair boycat)...

Now that he's back home... by KellyH
Antonio is a semi-feral, probably more on the feral side than semi. Before he went missing, I could only pet him if he was on his blankie on the sofa, or on the bed. He also hardly ever meowed. Now, he's rubbing up against my legs, lets me pet him, he actually rolled over to show me his belly...
