advice on "kitty bedroom" by
Joseph O'Brien
Hi, everyone! I have two cats, male and female, both fixed, both 3
years old, and both delightful parts of our lives. Over the last year,
they have developed a very specific routine. At 4:30 am, the male
wakes me up by pawing on things in our room, walking over our heads,
etc. I get up, put him...

Carpet cleaners/steamers? by
John Doe
Anybody have opinions about carpet cleaners/steamers? Apparently the
two leading brands are Bissell and Hoover. I'm thinking of one in the
less than $200 range, but whatever.
Kiki's health has improved tremendously in the 10 years she's been
here, but still has respiratory/lung problems. Currently...

respiratory problems with kitten? home cures? by
Nancy R via CatKB.com
I have an 11-12 week old kitten that I adopted from a lady down the road.
The kitten has been very healthy but for what seemed like a hairball problem
she developed a couple of weeks ago. Then after I started treating her for
what I believed was a hairball, she started sneezing and acting like she...

Steroids and appetite by
Kitkat
Dudley is back on the 'roids to help his asthma/wheezing. That stuff
kicks in FAST! But, he seems to be starved out of his mind, now. They
aren't kidding when they warn of an increased appetite.
Do any of you know if this is a side effect that will taper off? Perhaps
we can start lowering the dose...

trying to integrate new kitten..... by
Gail
I adopted a 9 week old kitten from a rescue group. He is in a room of his
own and has been for one week. My resident 2 year old neutered domestic
short hair was just exposed to him by my opening the door a small amount.
The resident cat was hissing and leaped at the door trying to swat the
kitten....

Gingivitis problem by
VeggieBurger
Hello all,
My 4 y.o. cat Buddha has a very slight case of gingivitis on his 2 back
molars. Vet says he'll need his teeth cleaned within the next 6 months
to the tune of $150-200 with general anesthesia. Would love to avoid
the danger of putting a small animal under (and wouldn't mind a...

Catnip question by
FemCat
My cat loves your catnip. I have one question however. I'm finding very
small, hard dark brown items underneath the cardboard of her scratcher, and
that's where I usually sprinkle the catnip.
They look like seeds of some sort, but I'm not sure. Upon very close
inspection, each little hard item...

Phosphorous, ash by
Newbie
Thanks to many comments made on this board, I have learned the value of
keeping the phosphorous content low. However, most cans do not seem to
list it, or does it go by some other name too? In particular, what is
"ash"?
