Purrs for new hobby by
Mark Edwards
Soon I will have a new toy with which to terrorize the cats - a Gibson RB
Deluxe Mastertone banjo. I start lessons next weekend.
Please purr that I am able to learn this instrument and that I rapidly
increase in skill.
At any rate, it ought to be fun.
Hugs and Purrs,

Nurse Waffles in charge by
wafflycat[_2_]
This morning, Vernon's plastered leg was giving him some gip. He'd had a
rough night, so had a lie-in this morning. Nurse Waffles was in attendence.
She gently jumped up on Vernon's chest, curled up with her head under his
chin and *purred* her quiet purr. Paw immediately relaxed and settled....

Ping Southern California members by
Joy
Is everybody okay? We had an earthquake a little while ago.
I felt it fairly strongly, and I'm about 75 miles from the epicenter. I
heard it was a 5.8, located about 20 miles south-southeast of Los Angeles.

I got an email for a catalog that you might enjoy. It has puzzles, toys and
other goodies that are pretty interesting.

The Mooch Mob by
Bobcat
A number of members of Flippy's CatGroup have joined the Mooch Fan
club, and one of them, Lynda Marie, gave it an alternative name.
Here's her post to the Group, and my reply. Also a link to where you
too can join Flippy's CatGroup and meet like-minded cat lovers!

I need to have a word... by
wafflycat[_2_]
... with the felines of Chez Wafflycat.
This morning I was watering the plants, letting the girls have a free-range,
fed them sweetcorn and then had to wrestle another shrew from the 'beak of
death' that is Cathode.
So I am going to have a word with the felines.
I shall simply point out that...

My Tiger's not well too. by
Nanny[_4_]
I'd noticed him becoming like a balloon over the past days so I took him to
the vet today, thinking he could have obstipation. Well, he didn't..... He's
full of fluid so they can't feel anything or take X-rays. He had to stay
there for the whole afternoon for an extensive examination and I just...

Snoopy just jumped half way onto my lap then dug her claws in and hauled

Christian The Lion (A True Story) by
Bobs
In 1969, John Rendall & Ace Berg saw a lion cub for sale in Harrods.
Cramped & lonely in a small cage, they decided to bring it home.
A local vicar allowed them to exercise the cub, now named Christian,
in the church grounds but he very quickly became too big for their
flat.
The only thing they...

Another stormy night by
Daniel Mahoney
This was a great weekend in central Iowa. Nice weather, light breezes.
This afternoon I got energetic and mowed our front yard and the front
and back yards next door (next door neighbor moved out a while ago). A
few clouds started moving in as I started, and by the time I finished
the whole sky...

It may be back OT and whatever by
tanadashoes
Rob had his regularly scheduled MRI last week and we got the results today.
There is some indication of growth in the same area as his previous cancer
and it is thought that it is possible that it may be back. Now I read that
report before I handed it over to the oncologist and it looked more...

Update on Tiger by
Nanny[_4_]
I've just come home from Tigers appointment with the vet. He hasn't lost
much fluid yet, but the vet could feel everything a bit more, and at the
moment is seems like he has a tumor in or next to his bowels, or something
to do with leukemia (I doubt the leukemia, as his bloodwork was good). He...

Abelard = 6.6 lbs. by
Pat[_2_]
I knew he had gained some because I had to loosen his harness. It was a
pleasant surprise discovering that he is back up to more than 6.5 lbs. When
he's at least 8 lbs. I will quit worrying that he's too thin. He'll need to
have that much weight to have a chance of being semi-comfortable this...

Purrs for a cat by
Cheryl P.[_2_]
I was walking on a popular local trail when I spotted a very
affectionate cat making up to the passers-by. I wasn't sure at first if
it was from one of the nearby houses or lost. When I coaxed it over, I
was sure it wasn't feral, and thought it looked thin and neglected - but
it's hard to be...
