OT - OMG! Fire Hazard Warning to Home Owners by
CatNipped[_2_]
I just got a couple of quotes about the electrical wiring repairs needed in
my home. It's going to cost about $2,000 just for the electrical work, not
even counting buying the hot water heater and the installation of that by a
plumber! That's enough of a shock, but it gets worse.
One...

My Sister-in-Law Died by
Ginger-lyn[_2_]
I just found out. Not off-topic because she was a cat lover with three
cats.
She went through a heart attack a couple of months ago, but then died of
congestive heart failure suddenly, after a good day of a good meal
outside and socializing with friends and relatives.
Hazel Ann was a sweet,...

Cat Stains by
jmcquown[_2_]
Nope, not what you're thinking! Mom asked me yesterday to put an old sheet
on the couch in the living room. Um, why? "Because of your cat." It seems
she thinks dark cat fur will "stain" her white couch like a bad dye job.
My sofa-bed at home is sort of an oatmeal shade. It hasn't turned...

Stinky back from vet by
Kreisleriana[_3_]
Stinky is back home from the vet. His own vet is on maternity leave, so we
saw the boss vet of the practice.
He said that Stinky is a very old cat, and that subQ is not a miracle cure.
He also said that I was doing all I could and shouldn't beat myself up. He
said that there may be other...

[OT] A more pleasant PING for Marina and Christine by
[email protected]
I heard some Finnish folksongs last night, and thought you might know
some of them. This was not a Finnish group, but rather, a local choral
group that sings international songs. They were wonderful! Watch it
and weep. :) (I'm in a similar type of chorus, but we're not nearly as
good!)
Anyway, the...

Ping, someone, anyone by

I have so many messages that I will truly be blind by the time I get through
them all. Have we heard how the kitten in the wall is doing?
Me and a guy from the factory across the street found a bag with 10 bitties
in it. We tried to feed them. Seeing these men with their monster hands
trying...

RB Purrs for a d*g by
Cheryl[_4_]
My brother had to help his toy poodle to the bridge yesterday. This has
been an amazing journey for this lil guy. He went blind and deaf a few
years ago, and just as they were ready to say goodbye, they got another dog
who brought new life into this old man. He liked to play and follow the...

OT health & hurricane purrs please by
Annie Wxill
Hello,
Jim is in the hospital recovering from yesterday's surgery (Monday).
He was doing great until early evening when he started shaking
uncontrollably and had a fever. I spent the night in his room. By
this morning (Tuesday) the fever was down but not gone.
We are hoping he will be released...

OT - Not Back Yet by
CatNipped[_2_]
Just to let you know I'm alive (darn Ben for not posting)!
I came through the surgery well - hurts like h*ll, naturally, but everything
went fine and I was up and walking as soon as they brought me to my room
from recovery. They let me go home at 10AM the next day... to promptly get
sick as a...

Rob's first Chemo sesstion by
tanadashoes
I don't care what you say, Rob is NEVER OT.
Rob was ready to go in for chemo at 8:30 am. Chemo was scheduled for 11:30
and we were asked to be a half hour early to clear up some of the
information. YIKES! One of the worst side effects for the type of chemos
that Rob is getting is diarrhea. ...

The kittens meet their Great-aunt Mumu by
[email protected]
Kiki and Naughty (WT) had a visitor yesterday. Great-aunt Mumu is my
friend Emily's d*g. She's an elderly white pekingese, and she's quite
adorable. Admittedly, she's dumber than a mushroom; however she has a
lovely character and not an ounce of malice in her whole
(cataclysmically moronic) body....

"Just a Cat" by

Crossposted from another list of mine.

"Just a Cat"
From time to time, people tell me, "lighten up, it's just a cat," or
"that's a lot of money for just a cat." They don't understand the
distance traveled, the time spent, or the costs involved for "just a
cat."

Cleo *is* going in for a dental by
Dan M
Since Cleo starting showing signs of discomfort in her mouth, we've been
paying very careful attention to her. We hadn't really caught on that she
has been sleeping on the bed with us less often for the last couple of
weeks, preferring instead to sleep by herself downstairs. She has seemed...
