Scavanger hunt on the Mouser by Ann
Sassy one of the stray kitties on the mouser looks at the list and turns to her team members. "Did anyone else notice a pencil or pen is on our list. We were given a pencil with the cloth bag to mark found items on our list. So we have our first item" -- Ann in Connecticut see my cats...

[OT] Duck Food by Yowie
Just struck me as hilariously funny: Duck Food One day while I was working in my office, this duck just comes waddlin' in. He looks around for a while and then jumps onto my desk and asks me, "Hey, do you got any duck food?"

strange cat in house ,not my house by Ann
Years ago I did house cleaning and one couple would pay me to come and feed their cats when they traveled. The husband has MS and used a wheel chair now and his wife will travel from time to time with friends. The cat litter boxes are in the basement and he can't get down there to clean them....

Kayla's Tooth by Jo Firey
I noticed this morning that one of Kayla's top front teeth is broken and cracked. No idea how it happened or how long its been that way, and it doesn't seem to be hurting her. Does this constitute something to point out to the vet the next time she goes in, or does it warrant a visit to the...

Scavanger hunt on the Mouser by tanadashoes
All the kits have gathered on the deck of the Mouser. "We are going to have a scavenger hunt today and I will be passing out a list of items for you to find. First you need to break up into groups of 2 or 3 members. " Tanada hands out the list of items and Samwise has a cloth bag and pencil for...

Nanki-purrs, please? by Joy
I'm worried about Nanki-Poo again. He spent almost all day yesterday outside in the 100+ degree heat instead of coming in where it was cool. He did come in for dinner, and later for treats, but I haven't seen him since last night. He did leave a calling card on the mat in the garage, just...

Nanki-Poo's check-up by Joy
Nanki-Poo had his first visit to the oncologist since the radiation treatments ended. The doctor said everything looks and feels good. He wants to see him again in one to three months - my option. He says I should check the area regularly for lumps, and bring him in sooner if I find any....

Blanket purrs by Joy
Early (too early!) tomorrow morning I'm leaving for 2 1/2 weeks in Alaska. I have a PC. I'll have access to my sister's Mac, and she doesn't do newsgroups. I may or may not find a way to get here while I'm gone. In case I don't, purrs for everyone who needs them now or while I'm gone. --...

A Cat Fence Idea by Kyla `=^. .^=`[_2_]
Some years ago, when we had 6 cats, we built a rather large encloser made of chicken wire and then draped netting over the top of the chicken wire so the cats couldn't escape. The wire was about 6 feet high and the netting was heavy. The cats could go out, but couldn't escape, and they were all...

Chronicles of the Ghost Shippe I by Marina
The Visionary (modelled on The Visionary/Silent is the House by Emily Bronte) Silent is the shippe: all are laid to rest: One alone looks out o'er the sea-waves deep, Watching every cloud, awaiting every blast That whirls the wildering water, and bends the groaning mast. Cheerful is his heart,...

(OT) Sparkling Repartee at home by Kreisleriana[_3_]
From Edith Wharton and Henry James to the Roaring Twenties to Sex in the Cities, we New Yorkers have been depicted as quick and witty, full of banter and snappy repartee. I am glad to report to you that it is all true, and we prove it every day on my house. For example, a couple of nights ago,...
