Jackie is home and seems ok by
dgk
Jackie is home after having all her teeth removed. Her mouth doesn't
stink anymore and she is eating the normal mush but I do crush it well
for her if it needs it. She always would eat almost any canned food
and is currently getting Wellness and Science Diet plus some Trader
Joe.
She is lying on...

What kind of cat to get? by
Camilla Cracchiolo
My husband and I are about ready to look for new kitties after
Victor's death a few months ago. We know the basics, like not to look
for "lookalike" kitties...I was very disappointed with our other cat,
Ashley because she looked just like a greatly loved cat I had before
but wasn't the same in...

Suddenly Mute Cats by
wilfred
Hi, If anyone could share thoughts on this cat health problem, I'd be
grateful.....
Our (middle aged) moggie has suddenly lost the ability to meow :(
We thought that this was due to his unfortunate habit of eating bees/wasps
(causing swelling around mouth and presumably inside the voicebox, but...

fur biting by
Simon Fitzpatrick
Hi
I have a small tabby female who keeps biting / scratching at the base of her
tail so that only very short fur grows there. She is a nervous cat but sat
steadfastly on the feet of my husband when he died recently,up until the
very time he was buried.
The skin looks OK where the fur is short but...

Need recommendation for animal advocate by
Artisanwomyn
A good friend has a predicament. She has two cats and her condominum complex
says one cat. She will be fined $200 a month. She wants to move but wants to
find out if she has any legal recourse. Other tenants have big dogs but I
guess the bylaws state one cat and she has two. Any...

Rescued cat, angry neighbour by
Kelly
For the past month there had been a new cat hanging around the outside of
our house. He would spend long days sleeping in our garden and was even
around at nighttime. I enquired with a neighbour friend and they told me
that a lady who was renting a basement apartment in the house across...

A sad anniversary by
---MIKE---
It was five years ago today that my tuxedo cat IKE left the house and
never returned. The house is surrounded by dense woods and undergrowth
so there was no way to search for him. I "replaced" Ike with Tiger
about a week later. Neither Tiger or Amber go out. They have never
been out so don't...

Fare thee well by
Marievulsion
I took my 10-year old boy, Yoda, to the vet yesterday for the second time in a
week. He subsequently went into respiratory failure and died. Although he had
been ill for about two weeks, it took both the vet and myself by surprise.
This is my tribute to my friend:
A decade ago, a very pregnant...

Strange new smells causing litterbox problems? by
Zorin the Lynx
Yesterday was my first day volunteering at an animal sanctuary. They
have tigers, cougars, a black bear, etc... Overall a great experience,
but it left me coming home with LOTS of new smells on me that my cat has
never smelled before.
He was apparently overwhelmed by the scents and avoided me when...

Turn $6.00 into $6,000.00 by
JmSpring6
HOW TO TURN $6 INTO $6,000!!!!!! READING THIS COULD
CHANGE YOUR LIFE! I found this on a bulletin board and
decided to try it. A little while back, I was browsing
through newsgroups, just like you are now, and came
across an article similar to this that said you could

cat grass by
andr0meda
Xena eats up my lemon grass.
Since our yard has been 'done' I had it mulched while I am deciding what to
plant and where. Meanwhile, the weeds are gone, and lemon grass (or what is
left of it) is the only grass. I have put some barley and wheatgrass seeds
in pots for her; they should be long enough...

here is an update and explanation for that post. Those of you who have

stupid, stupid neighbor by
-L. :
Today I see a sign on the community mailboxes that says my neighbor
across the street was babysitting his friend's Himmie, and it has gone
missing. They let the cat OUTSIDE and "now he hasn't come back for
two nights in a row". The sign asks for any info.
It has *poured* rain here (Portland, OR)...

cat plays hockey with dry food by
soft
Sir Lancelot decided it is more fun to bat his chunks of food across
the floor than it is to eat them.... Now he does have lots of toys to
play with and 3 other cats. They sometimes will play with him and
sometimes they still don't want anything to do with him... I think
they are afraid of his...

Glucosamine works for Meep! by
jmc
Hello. Just thought I'd post this, in case anyone else was thinking
of supplementing with Glucosamine-Chonidriotion (probably spelled
wrong). I'm using Drs Fosters and Smith "Joint Care", liver flavor
capsules, one per day, opened and sprinked on Meep's canned food.
I started this supplement for...
