The Etymology of Cat by MatSav
We have a TV show in the UK, called "QI" - which stands for "Quite Interesting". The show revealed the origin of the word "cat". Apparrently, it derives from the Roman word "Cattus" - which, when translated into English, means "Dog"! So, cats are really dogs :-)-- -- MatSav

A candle for Biddy by Adrian[_2_]
In case anyone missed it, Kyla set up a candle for Biddy. She didn't get the URL quite right, it should be. http://www.gratefulness.org/candles/candles.cfm?l=eng&gi=Biddy -- Adrian

Speaking of dentals by [email protected]
What do people think of dentals without anaesthetic? I mean the kind of dental that doesn't require anaesthetic. Several vets do this. A friend of mine recently took her dog to have a dental done by a vet who doesn't put the animal under. I asked if the work she does is as thorough as what they do...

Ping Catnipped by Magic Mood Jeep ©
Jean in Australia (who doesn't get newsgroups, but knows you from Catslaves) was asking about you (and Vicky, too:) ), so I copied your "we survived" posting to catslaves, and here is her reply: Nancy Thank you so much for your letter that was one of the things I thought of when Annie mentioned...

Overheard at the vets by Bobcat
This afternoon I took our sweet tortie Martha to the vet for her annual checkup and rabies shot. In the waiting room a man came out from the back with an adorable tabby kitten. Before he left he made an appointment to bring it back to be declawed. I was tempted to say to him, "Do you know what...

Mold Killers OT by Pat[_2_]
I've researched this subject a bit and am finding several things recommended: tea tree oil, white vinegar and grapefruit seed oil. The oils need to be diluted and sprayed on, of course, while the vinegar can be sprayed straight. I have all three on hand. I've got many areas to work on so I'll...

Baby bird by Jofirey
I'm sitting at the computer and just looked up and out the window when something unusual caught my eye. There is a baby humming bird sitting on the very end of a branch in the morning sun. I know he won't stay until I find my camera. Jo

Things a non-slave will never hear said... [possible BW] by Phoenix
We, who are slaves, hear in our own houses. Like: "Great. Now I have cat spit all over my cantaloupe." DH was eating half a cantaloupe at his computer and Jezebel started doing the dance-around-and-make-meeping-noises that says "I want some!" So he offered it to her. With the above...

Catnipped? by Jofirey
Isn't the power back on in most of her area by now? I'm starting to worry about her. I'd have thought she would have been back at work by now and posting from there at least. Lori, if you are reading, we are sending purrs that you and yours are OK. Jo

I am such an IDIOT!!! by Pat[_2_]
I hadn't seen Abelard for a while and figured he had found a new secret sleeping spot. Then a few minutes ago, I happened to open a closet that I rarely use, and there he was, sitting on a box, looking up at me, as if to say "Hi, Mom!" No complaints, he didn't run out of there, he just waited...
