litterbox games by
Governor George Liquor
Watching the evolving relationship between Jack and Rizzo is proving
endlessly fascinating.
They've now decided each other's trips to the litterbox are a really good
way to start a wrestling match and chase. If both are awake, and one goes
in the litterbox (in my second bathroom), the other runs...

How about a challenge???????? by
JHBennett
OK, cat people, I ... well actually we, i.e. Mother, the cats, and I, need
some guidance from the best cat thinkers on the planet. I somehow feel this
is the moment to say "your mission, should you choose to accept it........"
because the situation is rather daunting, taking on aspects of...

Cat Meowing by
Debbie Bouthiette
I have a cat that just doesn't stop meowing. He mostly does it because he
wants to go outside. We'd like him to be an indoor cat since all our other
cats were indoor cats and we believe they live a healthier life indoors. I
even tried to let him outside today in our fenced in yard and while I...

New picture of my fatboy Shadow by
Cheryl
Hard to believe he is sick by looking at him. He was enjoying the sun
today. I still wonder if some of the tummy fat is bloat, but the vet
has checked him out many times.

swollen ear by
mbjj
I have a male longhair. He's an outdoor cat living in the country.
I noticed that his right ear is swollen. It's kind of round and soft
and doesn't seem to hurt him when I examine it. I tried giving him a
little ibuprobin in his food for it but it has no effect. I can't see
any type of bite or mark...

Question about scars and fur growth... by
Alan
A stray kitten turned up last week, and I've been caring for her.
She's becoming very friendly, and I was trying to clean her up... She had a
spot of crusty matted fur between her eyes, so I moistened a tissue and
touched it to the spot for a few minutes to soften it up.
I was horrified when...

Hairballs and Peeing outside box- is there a link? by
beth
Hello, new to the group here. I am the owner of 2 cats, Tycho, NM, 17
and Ginger, SF, 10.
Ginger is a small shorthaired kitty. She has recently (over the last
year) peed outside the box on and off. Vet checks her out to be fine.
We've noticed a correlation between her having a bad hairball...

Rescue Alert Stickers AKA Fire Safety Stickers by
Sandy McDermin
I've been meaning to get at least one of these ever since Purina sent me
one through a promotion they had. However, what they sent me was a
"sticker" made out of plastic that I think I was supposed to apply to my
window via static cling (or something). In any event, I live on the 4th
floor of a 9...

sick old cat by
Moosh:]
I have a seventeen year old cat who has been fine until the last few
days. She has gone off her food, seems weak and feeble, and rather
emaciated (although she has been getting scrawnier for a while now --
we just put it down to old age). She just likes to sleep in the Sun in
the day, and on the...

Steatitis by

*** PLEASE NOTE - squeamish individuals may not want to read past the
second paragraph

Our 12 year old male DSH Bubba has steatitis, possibly as a result of
eating salmon & tuna flavored food from a well-known manufacturer. The
vet says that it's more likely due to Bubba being unable to...

housecall vet in Baltimore? by
[email protected]
Does anyone now of a vet in the area of Northwest Baltimore who makes
house calls? Our Siamese has been clawing his fur off in areas around his
neck (he's been Frontlined), and we can't catch him to take him to his vet
(we have spoken to her.) I'm disabled and my mother is no spring chicken,
so...

Just switched from Papurr to Swheat Scoop Litter by
[email protected]
I've got a bag of WBCL to get rid of too. I
switched because of the dust tracking all
over the house too.
I have 12 litterboxes with WBCL and have had none of these problems. I
wash and change the litter in the boxes completely every 2-3 weeks. It
has worked much better for me than the clay...

Giving Birth? by
Mike
One of the strays that I feed who recently has turned up is pregnant. Over
the past few hours she has displayed weird behavior, breathing fast and
lying strangely, changing position every 5/10 minutes or so.
It looks like she is giving birth, as it looks like she is in pain. If any
