Kerry (2015-August 20, 2020) by Cheryl[_5_]
Kerry went to the Bridge very unexpectedly today. She was a black cat who arrived from the local humane society in 2016, aged about a year. Although I often said she was a bit neurotic because of her fur-chewing habit, she was actually a very friendly and loving cat who got along with everyone...

Deceased cat gets voter registration application in mail by Auric Hellman
ATLANTA (AP) — In a presidential election year, there’s always a push to get people registered to vote. For one Atlanta family, that push got a little interesting. Ron Tims said he checked his mail Wednesday and found a voter registration application addressed to Cody Tims — his cat, who died...

Here's Your Robe... by jmcquown[_2_]
I suffer from occasional bouts of insomnia. One night last week I felt like I really hadn't gotten into a sound sleep until just before daybreak. Tossed and turned all night. Around 7AM Buffy started meowing, trying to make me get up. Oh no, I groaned. "Sleepy-bye". She has dry kibble and...

Odd Smokey behavior by Bill Stock[_2_]
Wow, it's dead in here, just Jill and I. :-) Smokey always wants a hug when I feed her in the morning before she eats. I'd say this is gratitude, but Smokey is all about Smokey. She doesn't suck up for food, she just screams at me. She screams for everything, hugs, her bath, food, the elevator,...

Barney is gone. by Magic Mood Jeep[_3_]
Barney passed away yesterday morning, at around 9:30 am. He had been declining the past couple of months, and we had an appointment to ease him over at noon, but he didn't make it. He was never in the best of health. He is be buried near his bumblebrother, Bam-bam. We only have 3 kitties left...

I just thought I'd drop in and say "Hello" by Hazle Az
I haven't been on the group in ages, but I've been checking in over the past couple of weeks and I see some familiar names. Would someone give me the name for the group on facebook please? I'd like to check them out too. I think all my furbabies I used to talk about on this site have gone to...

My Buffy has gone by jmcquown[_3_]
I am heartbroken. I've always kept Buffy indoors, but with the way she looks out the window, I thought I'd treat her to being in my back yard. At first, everything was fine. Buffy hesitantly walked to about the middle of the yard and sat down. She looked back at me and I smiled lovingly....

Sadly, Daisy-chan passed by cshenk
Sorry, I read here but silently most of the time. Daisy-chan passed at age (assumed) 23 this past weekend. Those of you who also read RPCC, knew her well.

Buffy-Versary by jmcquown[_2_]
I always seem to miss the date. It was on June 2, 2015 I adopted Buffy but for some reason my brain always thinks it was June 5th or 6th. Anyway, it's been five years since my fluffy orange stripey girl came to live with me. :) Jill

Cats Are Cleanly - This Can Help Stop Litter Box Problems by Justin Jason
The most common reason why cats wind up sitting in a cage at an animal shelter is because they refuse to use the litter box. Cat urine has a very strong odor, and getting it out of fabric or even removing the smell entirely from hard surfaces can be difficult. And, cats have been known not only to...

A Fun Play Session with Buffy by jmcquown[_2_]
Hi folks! How's everyone doing with this global pandemic? I've got no problem staying at home, playing with Buffy. We had a great play session with a fishing wand toy. Chasing it all over the place and jumping through her kitty barrel. As usual, in the middle of the living room she gathered...

Enjoying store visiting cats by Mahoney,Dan
After Nancy and I took Milton in on a fostering basis we decided that we would see if he could be trained to be a leash cat. Nancy made him a custom walking jacket. We took him in to the back yard a couple times with Ranger and he did really well. So when we next had to go to the pet supply...

Hi everyone by Dewi
Hi all, It's been a long time since I read this ng. I've notice many new people and many people who are still around from when I was a regular contributor to RPCA. For those who don't remember me and/or don't know me, I am the proud human of 9 cats. Which I now realise is an insane number....

Lao She's Cat Country and City Of Cats by weary flake
So I read Lao She's novel the Cat Country, about a Chinese man who travels to Mars to find himself in a cat country, an atomized corrupt country whose only crop is a natural drug that functions as food and tranquilizer. Their are many cute things in this funny book here with the cat people, like...

New kittahs by cshenk
Inlike the recent spate of stupid spam, I adopted Luko (male) and Mona (female), 12 year old twins. He's quietly deliberate, like a 'landed gentry folk' with the occasional mumble while she's inquisitive, talkative and a lap kittah.

I Got a Phone Call Last night... by jmcquown[_2_]
A call from a woman who is a member of the Dataw Island Feline Foundation. There is a colony of feral cats where I live and apparently people keep track of the adoptions. I adopted Buffy after her owner died. But before that, Buffy was one of those who was part of the TNR program. Her owner...

Marina - Frank & Nikki's slave by Mishi[_2_]
Just got an update on Marina - she had a multi-organ transplant on Sunday, I believe a pancreas and kidney transplant. Her niece says she is awake, and doing ok. Still in ICU for a couple more days. Major purrs going out to her!
