2-year-old cat is slugging the new kitten by Marilyn & Glenn Spence
I agree with Lynn K's response. We started with 2 Maine Coons (Jasper & Jasmine) who came from the same cattery and were about the same age. They got along great. A couple of years later we added another Maine Coon kitten (Molly) and it took a month or so for the hissing and swatting to subside....

Kitten - Health problems by Anastasia
My kitten is just over 4 months old. I got her just over a week ago - she wasn't entirely healthy then - was still sneezing and coughing (from the kennel flu), but on the way to recovery. She finally stopped sneezing and coughing within the first few days being at home, and her eyes were clear and...

Feline leukemia vaccine?? by Cathy Friedmann
As long as she's going outside, I'd personally have her get the FeLV vaccine. Cathy -- "Staccato signals of constant information..." ("The Boy in the Bubble") Paul Simon "Rita" wrote in message

Curious about rabies by Purplecat
Hi, I was thinking about this last night. Yesterday I found and caught a stray/feral kitten, which managed to give me a bite (mistaking my thumb for food rather than out of fear/aggression!) This is not the first time I've been bitten by a feral. Fortunately in Australia we don't have rabies,...

does the No-Scratch spray work? by Governor George Liquor
Rizzo is doing a number on my TV speaker grilles with his claws. This is despite having ready access to several scratching posts. I was able to break Jack of the habit with the pennies-in-a-can bit, but Rizzo ignores it. They somehow manage to pull off the double-sided tape I apply with...

Keep Your Cats Inside - esp.in Denver & Salt Lake City by Lara Jaegar
On the Today show this morning there was a very upsetting report of cat mutilations in these two areas. People are urged to keep pets indoors until this sick person/people are caught. The cats have been found cut in half with one half missing or completely without organs ( surgical removal) . One...

Good food for dandruff???? by Sherry
Hmmm, thanks MaryL but I really can't go to a canned food. My dog would like it to much to resist, and it will bring ants in the house. The good thing about canned food is, they usually go for it really well and eat it right away, esp. if you only give them a half portion or so. There won't...

The problem with Arthur...... by Steve
Hi Our cat, yes he's white, has recently started to paw his eyebrow area. He makes his face quite red and can cause bleeding. We've had him in a 'lampshade' for a week to stop him and the problem cleared. However, we've just took the collar off and he's done it again! Why? How can we stop him...

Maxi by Opened Eyes
We have a beautiful 8 month old, spayed, has all her shots, manx kitten. She is lovely to look at, orange tabby and amber eyes. She is also the spawn of demon cats everywhere!!! Neither my husband nor myself has ever experienced the nonsense this kitten can produce. She slapped me awake the...

Nipsy is part Maine Coon? by dgk
I was describing my new cat Nipsy to friends at the beach yesterday and one said that he sounds like Maine Coon. Definite tufts of hair coming out the bottom of the feat, tufts of hair on his face that make him look somewhat lynxish. Most of those were removed by constant play with his former buddy...

Defacation problem by Paul Huckabay
Ok, I've got this wonderful cat that has had this problem for several years now, and maybe someone here can help. He is a mixed breed, but beautiful animal. I got him from my vet when he was a kitten. He is neutered/declawed (front). He is approximately four years old. On to the problem. To put...

Hill's T/D carbs - Thanks, Steve and Liz for the interestingdiscussion by Jean
I'm certainly no expert and am reading and asking alot of questions. Seems like the jury is still out on the carb question diabetes, as well as on the protein/phos question, kidneys. I've run across an awful lot of conflicting information - all from some kind of expert or another. At this...

Falling asleep by moi
Does anyone else have cats whose head drops when they fall asleep? I was thinking about things my cats do that make us laugh. In the evening they like to sit with us when we watch TV. Now like most cats they sleep a lot but remain alert. However there are times when they fall hard and fast...

Considering Radio Iodine Treatment by L
I'm about 90% sure this is the way I want to go. My cat was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism about 3 weeks ago. He has been on Tapazole 2x a day since then. He hates being pilled, it takes 3 or 4 tries to get him to take the pill each time. His activity level has gone down drastically, his toy mouse...

I thought you might like this story by Bill
I thought you might like this story from a TV/Book writer who posts on another board. I recently lost a cat that I'm still very sad about. It is good to hear these kinds of stories. Bill _________________________________________________\
