I added Rosey (am told they are a little confused at names but they
*think* this one is Rose Marie).

It's actually a real puppy. There was a bad accident Saturday caused
by an elder person who didn't realize they were past driving and
getting easily confused. I can sympathize with how this can happen
(not like, just understand).

The owners of a large dog with pups going for basic shots were hit head
on. The mother dog did not survive but 5 puppies of 8 did (1 still in
danger) as did all the humans. The 2 owners should be out of the
hospital in the next 3-6 days but aren't up to puppy care.

Please, if possible, try to secure your pets when driving. It's
difficult, I know. But make your best effort. See, the 4 foots don't
have the protection of seatbelts.

Purrs for the pups - I always tell people I see that have dogs unsecured about the time we had our Boston Terriers (both RB) unsecured in the back seat, when an ambulance pulled out in front of us and we slammed on the brakes.. Both dogs went flying into the back of our seats. Buster wasn't hurt, but Jasper had a black eye from it. We drove to the closest pet supply place and bought seat belts for them.

When I take my cat to the vet I always put the carrier in the back seat
and put the seat belt around it.

Thank you. I don't have the exact details but the 4 pups who were
'bruised' were all in a sort of styrofoam box. The one in danger has
since passed. The rest were free on the floor on a blanket.

Meantime, 'Rosey' isn't mine. She's just here for a bit. There is a
waiting list to adopt her but they have to wait for the '2foots' to
come out from the hospital and release the ones they want adopted.

I hope no one thinks me awful, but I am not up to a dog of Rosey's
size. She's something like 9lbs already and her feet are 1/2 the size
of Iowna's head!

She got some very initial training today. If you jump at me, I do not
want to play. If you come at me sweetly, I will play. That was advice
from the rescue as she's gonna be a BIG girl so needs to learn how to
be safe around others. I can only hope I am doing it right! They say
she might top 200lbs so it is essential to give early training.

Cross your fingers that I got it right.

Auntie Carol, it sounds like you're doing just fine. Lots of purrs and tail wags from our house for you, the 4foots, and their humans.

Smile, it's been an awesome month here. Rosey left here this morning
at almost double the weight she had and a very sweet disposition. Well
socialized to other dogs including the rare blind dog. She may be back
for a bit.

The owners have medical related bills that are not going to be covered.
Things like rent when in the hospital. That means they can't keep all
the surviving puppies but had planned to find homes for most of them
anyways.

The good news is her early interaction with a blind dog and how she
adapted to that, makes her worth a lot more. She has none of the
'attack it because it didn't respond to my clear body language'.
Instead she 'grew up' being stepped on and bumped into by a blind dog
and it doesnt freak her out.

She's being 'tested' with several blind dogs where the owners could not
find a match. She's already got one offer of 3,000$ after a meet up
today. There are several more in the wings.

She'll find a home easily.
