Much to my surprise, Nipsy is doing pretty well. I guess that shadow
in his lungs wasn't cancer because he would certainly be dying from
that by now. He does have a serious heart murmer but I don't know that
anything can be done about it.

He is sneezing more now though, which could be a sign of a failing
heart. I'll check with the vet - he had that growth in his ear that
might have been cancer or might have been a polyp. Much of that was
removed, and while he still scratches at the ear, there is no longer
an infection there. But I wasn't willing to do much more since that
shadow appeared on the xray.

Still, it might have been an infection and not cancer. I just don't
know how much stuff I want to subject him to - which is why I didn't
do more tests in the first place.

But since he isn't dying of cancer, I guess I have to find out what
the heart condition is and whether it can be treated. Nothing will
make it go away, but maybe he can have some more time if it's
something that is treatable.

The entire yard was pulled out a few weeks ago, and all the grass
killed and yanked out. I have nothing there but sandy soil and left
over decorative rocks. It looks like the surface of the moon.
Tomorrow, finally, the gardener will plant the new yard. Mostly all
Florida native plants. No grass except a little patch of sod so the
cats can eat it, come inside, and vomit on the white rug. I don't want
to ruin all their fun.

It should be really nice, and hopefully the cats will enjoy the new
yard as it fills in. Not a very big area - 25' by 35', but it's enough
for them to roam around and because there are no high bushes or trees,
it should be very difficult for them to get over the fence.

That's the news from rainy south Florida.

I'm glad to hear Nipsy is doing pretty well. I'm certainly not a vet so
I couldn't really hazard a guess. I hope they enjoy the new yard. :)

New yard is in, it looks great. All three cats came out for a few
minutes this afternoon, even feral Baby. Much sniffing occurred. Then
I had to go so we all came inside. I'm going away for a few days and
was nervous that things would get too dry but the cat sitter agreed to
water the yard if necessary. It's not likely to be necessary since a
big storm is heading our way and will rain for much of the weekend.

I'll try to get some pics of the yard up when I get home.

Can't wait to see them! Have a safe trip.
