Another method for feeding dry food
One of my cats mainly gets Purina Pro plan dry after it is placed in
a zipper sandwich bag, filled with 50% water, sealed, and let saturate before refrigerating. Take some practice to get the mixture correct. Been doing that for 7+ years. About a year ago, I discovered another method that is working for my neutered outside cat. She is mostly feral, a REALLY great hunter in her time (this is retirement). One time she brought me a nice fat pigeon, stuck in the covered litter box on the porch, live and ready to eat... It was used to wet bloody food. So I am using a very well rinsed spray cleaner bottle, the kind that have the straw running along the front outside. Holds a lot of filtered water. Being filtered might help avoid clogging. She very much likes Fancy Feast Fish & Salmon and Accents of Garden Greens sprayed with water. Usually less than 20 sprays worth of water. And maybe let it sit for a minute or two before feeding. At feeding, the plate is tilted slightly towards her so the liquid stays with the food. My outside feral obviously prefers that to about anything else nowadays. It seems very successful in the perhaps nine months or so doing it. |
