Santa brings drugs! Death to Santa!
Most successful Christmas present this year (well, Hanukah present,
considering who was giving it): a catnip Santa with long dangly legs hanging off a stick by a couple of feet of cord. Ollie and Marblecake really, truly believe in Santa. The catnip in his stuffing must be good ****. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- e m a i l : j a c k @ c a m p i n . m e . u k Jack Campin, 11 Third Street, Newtongrange, Midlothian EH22 4PU, Scotland mobile 07800 739 557 http://www.campin.me.uk Twitter: JackCampin |

The catnip in his stuffing must be good My little Minnie got a similar gift but it was a catnip mouse with an electronic squeaker inside at the end of the string rather than a catnip Santa. We've both been enjoying the workout and the companionship during what's since become a routine half-hour a day of playing with the contraption. I know this because in between play sessions, I keep it put up where she can't get it - I'm afraid of her strangling herself with the string - but she does know where it's kept and anytime I get near the hiding place, there's Minnie down there between my feet looking up at me expectantly with her tail sticking straight up. Thank heavens I've had cats around me for most of the last 35 years, so I'm used to looking down first before I move my feet. I'm not very sure how good the catnip in it is, though. When we've played with it, she hasn't really reacted to it. Of course, there's no telling how long that thing sat around in the store before being discovered, so maybe it's no good anymore - or maybe she's simply part of that 30% of cats the experts say don't react to catnip. Or maybe she's still too young yet to react to it. I suppose I will find out more in a couple of weeks, when I plan to get her some fresh catnip - which will obtain personally from a local pet store, rather than having it delivered from that fly-by-night place at the North Pole.
