Yes, he is diabetic, plus he doesn't feel pain, which is how his foot got so bad. He didn't feel it. He took his wife to the doctor and ended up in the hospital with gangrene. He had been ill for a few days, and he thought he had the flu. :( His wife is staying with relatives, and a bunch of us on Facebook have taken up a collection to hire a pet sitting company to make sure the cats are taken care of daily. His step-children were coming in every couple of days to take care of them. Mark was very upset his babies!

No matter how difficult he's having it, he would be concerned about his cats. I wish him and his wife all the best. I know it isn't easy for her either. |

Update on Mark - he is back in the hospital, as the infection spread and he had to have an amputation just below the knee. He is going to be in the hospital and rehab for quite some time, and has decided that he cannot take care of his cats so is going to rehome them. :'( Him and Senyah will be moving closer to her son, so things are going to be a bit stressful for a while.. As soon as I get an address where we can send cards, I will post it here. Purrs for him, and his babies. Mishi |

Joy Thank you. My brother seems to be managing well. There was a short time when I feared he wouldn't. There is lots of continued physical therapy ahead. But he's getting around well on crutches and in a wheelchair. Eventually he may get an artificial leg. But for now, he's doing well. Jill |

Today happens to be his 65th's birthday. I sent him an email and talked with him on the phone. He sounds very upbeat. I think his girlfriend tries to keep me from talking to him on the phone. When I call I don't let her tell me he's "sleeping". I insist on talking with him. Jill |
