I'm not so sure about it being such a sin for a muslim male to see a
woman other than his wife naked. But I do know it is a very big sin for
a muslim to commit suicide... as it's not up to a mere human to decide
when his time to go is, but it's up to God.

This I have learned from my Moroccan DP (well, we don't live together
yet, but it's in the works...).

Ewww, this is nasty. Don't we have enough bigotry as it is? I really
wish people wouldn't post offensive stuff like this. But if people are
going to post this, then they are officially forfeiting any grounds to
complain when other people post their political opinions. And mine is
that Muslims aren't terrorists any more than any other group of people.
So please stop spreading stupid (and dangerous) stereotypes and attitudes.

I truly feel bad for the people of the Muslim faith living in this
country. They're being persecuted, not too much
different than other people in history have been persecuted because of
their faith. And considering what
our founding fathers had to say about the freedom to practice your
faith, no matter what it is, it's pretty awful
what happened recently about the mosque (sp?) being spied upon by our
government. I truly think it's a breech of
their civil liberties. I don't like it how "Muslim" has become
synonymous with "terrorist." That just isn't true, and it
isn't right.
And here I go, talking about religion *and* politics, didn't I say
both of them ought to be taboo subjects just recently?
Apologies for being the hypocrite that I am, but I just had to throw
that in, because the story about the mosque was still
fresh on my mind, it just outraged me.

Strange what we all find "nasty" or "offensive", isn't it? There are
people who
post here who never utter a political or religious opinion who IMHO
are these
two adjectives. Also, IMHO they forfeit their right to *nothing*.

I
personally find communication to a complete stranger,
reminding them of their imminent demise from one of the most painful
diseases there is, knowing the ailing one has mostly succeeded in
mental blockage of upcoming happening. Guess it's just my past medical
"career" but guess what? I've actually watched people die of this. But
hey,
rpca "family" can get worked up over whatever floats your boat as long
as
the BKGP isn't p***** off, right?

Am I the only one scratching their head asking "What the h**l are you
talking about"? Sorry, I find it offensive as well and I probably
wouldn't have said anything except that I think if I don't then I'm a
bigot as well.

I can't speak for Joyce, but I was not "all worked up." I left a simple
message, and it *certainly* had nothing to do about reminding anyone about
dying. It takes a very active imagination to connect my short message (or
Joyce's) to that. If anyone is all worked up, it seems to be you. I have
developed great respect for Pam and (through her) for Rob, and that is one
of the reasons why I was surprised and disappointed by the tone of that
"joke." I simply don't think people should be stereotyped and cast into the
role of demons simply because of their background (religion, race,
ethnicity, etc.). Incidentally, I don't have any idea what BKGP means, so I
can't respond to that.

I know. I sure hope Susan did not read the one I refer to as it would
probably make her feel worse than she does due to MIL's demise.

Now I'm *really* confused. Have two threads somehow become confused? This
thread started out with a joke about Muslims, and that is where there was an
objection. There was no reference to Susan or to illness or dying, and I am
truly puzzled about what you are talking about.
