Beatrice went to sleep in a litterbox
I found her in one of the litterboxes, asleep, in the meatloaf pose. None of
my owners has ever done that before. What does it mean??? Is it some sort of message I am supposed to decipher? |

It can mean she is having potty trouble or some other trouble. If it were me, I'd want a blood test, but that is me. She is really young, so I can't imagine it's renal failure or some of the other things Ive heard about when they do this. Still, watch her and see if she is doing anything else odd. |

Perhaps she has a tummy ache. Has she eaten anything strange? If she isn't better by morning, perhaps you should take her to TED. Best wishes, MLB |

A few minutes after I saw her laying in the box, I opened some canned food in the kitchen and she came running, and ate heartily. I had just finished setting up a new litterbox... Maybe she mistook it for a bed? |

Probably being new had something to do with it...maybe she was staking her claim on it :-) At the shelter, I have noticed that often the cats who are ill will sleep in their litterbox. Bea doesn't sound sick though. Sherry |

When I first saw Rusty, he was under an upturned litter box. Almost didn't
seen him, and he won't have came to live with me. Last time Rusty boarded at the vet, I was told he played in his litter box. But he never did that at home. Winnie "Pat" wrote in message .. . Maybe she'd get a better idea of its purpose if you sprinkled a little used litter from another box into it? -- monique, who spoils Oscar unmercifully pictures: http://www.bounceswoosh.org/rpca |

Sometimes cats are just weird, as we all know grin. But my beloved Mojo (RB) did this a number of times, and shortly thereafter we discovered a urinary blockage which he did not survive. It could just be a quirk, could be it felt warm and comfortable in there, but it's always good to get odd behavior checked out just in case.
