Hi All,

We've all seen a cat make 'covering up' paw swipes after putting
down something we think should just tickle our cat's appetite. How
many of us have then gone and offered something else to kitty only to
have him or her repeat the behavior. This is often followed with the
cat's 'hungry' behavior. Altogether a frustrating experience for a
catslave.

As far as I know my mother holds the record for opening different
cans of cat food to present to a cat who seemed interested in getting
more cans opened, but not interested in eating anything. One night I
saw her driven into a state by my cat, The Puddy, where she just had
to find something the little rotter would eat. She must have opened
half a dozen cans, laid them before his majesty, and watched in
frustration as he proceeded to make the 'covering up' motion to each
dish that was presented.

When he finally got tired of this game, he walked away without
eating a bite. I won't repeat here the remarks she made regarding
cats and where they could put their snooty attitude.

My personal favorite is when he gulps it down, hurks it back up, then
immediately asks for more. I call him "Caligula" when he does that.
