Default Needy only-Buster

Buster's become a pretty clingy cat in the past year. Maybe it's because
he's been an only cat since Dot died over a year ago. Or maybe it's because
I've been working from home for the past year.

But in either case, he's developed a needier, more demanding purrsonality
the past few months. He's often followed me, but now he follows me while
making little meeping noises. He plays harder with his cat charmer toys
than he ever has before, even though he's 14 years old now. He doesn't
evict himself from my lap anymore when he gets petted, but falls pretty
well asleep there.

Maybe an only cat is a lonely cat. I'll try to get him a kitty friend next
year. Buster and I are going to have to move out at some point later this
year, as I've just signed a contract with a builder for the first phase of
a renovation to adjust the layout of the house to better suit my
preferences. (In this phase, a new basement will be dug and foundation
repoured, a new site drainage system installed, and the structure rebuilt
to safer, more efficient modern codes.) So Buster and I will be in an
apartment for a few months - don't worry, my most loyal and soft friend -
it'll just be like camping out together.
