He always wears a reflective collar and he is microchipped but he looks so
awful atm with no fur on one side, he was shaved right up to his spine and
most of his back leg.
I have to trust him not to be caught by the KFC police, but actually there
is zero chance that will happen as no way in the world would he approach
anyone and even if they saw him there is no chance of them catching him.

I am the only person in the world that he seems to love & trust.

I am so glad to read all the good news about Boyfie.

A veterinarian--and even just the average person--should be able to tell
from a shaved area that he is recuperating from surgery. The fact that he
has a collar and microchip should also show that he has a home. I
seriously doubt if he would be treated as a stray or abandoned cat. Of
course, I understand why you worry during this period of time. I have
sometime been very worried when I could not find Duffy (just as I did in
earlier days about Holly), even though I knew they were in the house and
probably just sound asleep somewhere.

I know he is safe to go out and it will never happen again but it did happen
and I am scared every time he asks to go out just in case it does.
But he was so miserable when he was in because of his stitches that I have
to risk it, and now he is so happy going out when he wants to. Myself, I
nearly die with worry until he comes in safely but there is no reason to
expect he won't: and he does.
I never want to go through that night again.
