My cat has started peeing in the corner near our front door. She's very
old, so I don't exactly know if this is an age thing or what.

Older cat + peeing outside box = UTI or other health problem (more than
likely). Might be kidney stones, arthritis causing pain, or any number of
geriatric cat issues.

Vet time. ASAP.
