I've never owned any microfiber furniture. I always thought it would
be a cat-hair
magnet. Isn't it hard to clean cat hair off of?

I need a new sofa badly. (Unfortunately, there are always other
priorities)....my cats
don't scratch furniture; they're very good about that. It's the cat
hair that's a problem.
Next new furniture I get, I'm using throw covers that can be tossed in
the washer.

It's actually very easy to get the fur off with the vacuum cleaner...
and it's pretty much claw-proof. My computer chair is microfiber and
while they occasionally stick their claws into it, it's none the worse
for wear after a couple of years - unlike my nice new armchair with
tapestry fabric on it - within a month it was so shredded that I had
to cover the seat for it's own protection! The sofas are much less
appealing to the footfang brigade.
