Suddenly Cash, Aunti Mabel and WooToo come to full alert and bark at the
west. There are no tails wagging, instead they are low and between their
tails. Cats everywhere are looking west too. Daisy-chan comes and hides
under Cash's belly, rumbling a low tone that has nothing to do with
purring while her tail makes short rapid jerks. Having made their alert,
the Doggies stop barking but continue to look westwards.

Mme Anais puts down her Mew Yorker and has the big TV brought out and
tuned to the Cat News Network. Scenes flood them all of damage to cats
and their homes in Asia, but especially Japan ones.

Daisy-chan (chan means little one/loved one in Japanese) and Cash who even
speak some Japanese because there 2foots lived there 7 years just before
coming back to be adopted by them, are devastated.

Checking in with their 2foots, they find their phone has been busy
checking on friends still there. So far, all are well but some lost their
cho apartment homes and one is still looking for their kitty Pinto-chan.
The news shows their Meowmie's last ship, the USS ESSEX has set sail with
many others for medical assistance and relief efforts. The 'Iron Gator'
is thre largest Amphib in Japan. The smaller ones are also setting sail
with her to head to eastern Japan for relief. The CNN reporter reminds
the watchers that the secondary mission of these ships is emergency relief
and civilian evacuation. She did this also in the big Tsunami in 2004.

Cash sighs in his sleep whilst dreaming in glee of whole yellowfin
leaping nto the boat to be eaten. It's big enough Daisy-chan slips off
with a soft plumpf. Aunti Mabel rolls over which makes him roll over
and now he's on the edge of the sun matt.

Humm, she angles to use across his neck but Aunti Mabel in her sleep
grabs that spot to perch her sore jaw. Daisy-chan grins and curls up at
the head of the sun mattress. Soon a doggie nose pokes up towards her
providing a perfect chin rest and she settles in to enjoy the warm sun.
She dimly hears cruise announcements but decides napping is more
important just now.

WooToo and some other friends come by and snag chairs for a morning nap
nearby, among them Pepe and Gigi. A catender quietly counts and warns
the chef who nods as he is preparing the regular buffet for lunch. He
adds a final touch to the salmon aspic then arranges for 4 more ducks to
be brought from the coolers. The Chez Shenk's sets have made his
favorite bird even more popular than normal. With a thought, he
remembers to check what Pepe and Gigi might like.

Humm he muses, they like veggies more than just the green beans which
are very pretty on the plate, cooked poultry which we have plenty of,
and a bit of nuts or fresh fruit and sometimes a little cheese. Looking
at his masterpiece in the fridge, he adds a few carrot bits and
cucumbers then builds a special centerpiece. 6 mandarin orange slices
now make a flower there and they are sprinkled with a small amount of
sunflower seeds and cooked green lentils. In the center, is a small bowl
of cottage cheese in a delicate leafy bowl that could almost be made of
ice.

Rico the catender looks on with glee. He can't wait til the right time
to bring it out!


With dinner and cocktails over, many kitties sleep
late the next morning...

Daisy-chan, Cash and Aunti Mabel having told their tales, get dressed
for the day.

Daisy-chan is in a sporty bright yellow outfit. Aunti Mabel laughed
and matched with a tassel bottomed yellow soft 2 piece outfit. Cash
sighed ('yellow is so not my color ladies!) then found them fitting his
favorite blue collar with a little darker yellow bow. He prances to
the mirror and poses. 'Um, ladies, would it be ok to wear one of the
tail ornaments? Mebby a blue one?'. Daisy-chan scampers over to the
gift box and selects a blue one and helps him get it on.

As they leave to go see the morning events, WooToo comes out and gives
Cash a high-5 for the warning zone.

Anaïs awakens, realizing that they will be in
Jamica in a day or two - and taking her sunglasses
and the latest issue of the Mew Yorker, finds a
comfortable deck chair in the sunand relaxes into
a gentle sleep...

Daisy-chan and Aunti Mabel settle near Anais while Cash finds a
catender. Whispering softly, the catender's eyes melt and he nods then
comes back with cold fresh water with many little ice cubes and a small
almost frozen serving of duck pate sitting on a bed of ice. He gently
positions this so Aunti Mabel can reach it easy. 'Madame Aunti, iffin
you needs anything else, jus calls fur me. Iz Rico'. 'Tangyu Rico!
This is jus right' says Aunti Mabel as she scarfs it all up.

Rico trots off to whisper to the other catenders. 'ouch, Ted took 4
teef frum her just Sunday anna she's all swelled up onna one side.
She's a trooper doe. Herself has 2 friends watchin her close anna just
needs *cold* *soft* munchies jus now.'. One of the other catenders
gets an idea and excuses herself to go talk with the chef.

Meantime, Anais wakes a bit and smiles to see the chez shenk's family
enjoying the warm sun. Seeing Cash trying vainly to fit on the smaller
deck chairs and giving up with a goofy grin, she silently signals an
assistant to bring a larger one. This is a sun matt a good 2 inches
thick and big enough for 2 of him, or the whole family.

Cash thanks Anais with a happy wag that softly jingles and settles in
for a nap. In moments, he finds his belly is now covered by Aunti
Mabel and Daisy-chan is on his hip half spread over Aunti Mabel. Woof.
woof.....wagg snore

As they nodd off, the morning chef comes out padding very quietly to
check and sees Aunti Mabel's face is all puffy on one side. He has
just the right things in mind. Plotting, he comes up with a nice
special brunch and nodding to himself, doubles the recipe as they have
many friends.

Back in the kitchen, kittahs scurry swiftly bringing him things as a
wonder develops under his swift but sure paws. It's all on ice and
kept cold but it's 'geld' consommé of duck in small cubes setting on a
bed of chilled but first steamed green beans and between the
stock/consommé cubes are little bits of salmon, shrimps, and pulled
soft pork. At the side, is a bowl of pureed nip and cream. Lovingly
they place this all in the fridge to await just the right time to
present it.

Ms Anias rolls over with a happy smile. All is well.
