Default Turtle - A purr request

Turtle used to be my SIL's cat until the 'real' baby came along and she
couldn't keep up with the care and attention that he needs. On the up
side, he's happier here than he's ever been before (so long as he's left
alone most of the time), and he's probably getting better care. He
adores me, and I adore him.

But now I'm worried. He's had frequent UTIs all his life, he's under
treatment for one now, but he doesn't seem to be getting better the way
he usually does. He started off getting better, but only up to the point
where he was eating half to 2/3 of his daily rations. Now he'll eat most
of a half ration (1/8 cup twice daily is what he'll eat now) and I'm
afraid to give him much more because I know too much food offered when
one is feeling ill can cause the appetite to get even worse. His vet was
a little concerned about keeping his kidneys going (which prompted me to
schedule kidney tests) and now I'm really worried. Calling the vet on
Monday morning any way about it, sooner if he stops eating.

Can I get some kidney-restoring purrs for my precious Turtle? He's a
very contented cat, and I want him to be able to stay that way as long
as possible.

Thank you all.

Purrs from my UTI-prone boy to yours - I hope he starts feeling better
soon!

Aww. Love Turtle for a name for a cat that mostly wants to be left
alone. So fitting.

How old is he? Its tough when we know they don't feel well and can't
make it all better right away.

Purrs on order. Jake right now as he is in purr mode for the night.
We'll get Molly on it as soon as we get her furry little mouse
hunting butt in the house for the night.

I hope the vet recommended a canned food for your cat. It's becoming more
and more known that dry kibble is behind many of these health issues. Some
vets are starting to recommend canned foods over kibble.
