Hewwo, efurrybody. I'z new to dis group - new to de whole compooter
fing, actually.

My name is ShortTail Tom. I'z a boy cat, somewhere between free an fife
years old. We'z not sure, cuz I was a stweet kitty before I was adopted
byu hoomins. I'z actually got two homes. I lib in Califurnia. My
offishal home is nice and dey feeds me and gives me clean lidder boxes,
but dey duzn't play wif me much and dey duzn't hab any pooters. Dere's a
house acroww de stweet dat has a bunch of kitties, and a bunch of
pooters, and de hoomins dere leave food an water an a blanket out for me
in dere garden cuz dey is afraid I might not be getting enough to eat at
my offishal home.

When I was across the stweet last week I listened to the offur kitties
living dere and heard dem talking about dis Usenet fing. Dey duzn't want
to share dere house space wif me (and I don't blame dem for dat), but
dey offered to share dere pooters and showed me how to get into dis
newsgroup.

I never had any idea dat kitties cud hab so much fun, and go on such
exciting 'ventures, and hab such great parties, and I had neber heard of
teleporters neefur.

But anyway, I iz here now and would like to say hihi to all ob you
kitties. Would it maybe be ok if I waz to join you in your beach party?
I'z would sure like to do sum of de fun stuff dat you kitties do.

I'ze would like to do dat, but I iz still a liddle scared to do dat. The
place cross de stweet is 4 houses dere, and 2 of dem has hoomin kittens
and 1 of dem has d*gs! De hoomins in de good place try to get me to come
close, but I iz afwaid a liddle. But I will fink about it.

Meanwhile I is twying to get the udder four kitties used to me. Dey
seems nice, but I duzn't know how well dey would take to habing anudder
kitty in deir house. We'll see, I guess.
