Default Extreme Poking

Smokey has now invented "Extreme Poking."

Every once in a while he'll be lying on his back, swat at something,
and leave his "arm" hanging there in mid-air because he's too lazy to
move muscles to bring it back down.

Well, tonight I was rubbing his belly as he lay on his back and he
decided to show me how tough he was by bunny-kicking with the back
legs, grabbing my arm with the front legs, and biting with the teeth.
Only he actually pinched me with his fang, so I pulled my hand away
and...

Smokey stayed splayed out, front AND back legs up, balanced perfectly
on his back, mouth hanging open....

....and just stayed that way.

It's like someone pressed "pause" on his personal remote, and he just
stays frozen in whatever position you leave him in.

I wonder if this is sloth so extreme that it goes off the end of the
scale and falls into "hard work."

BWAHAHAHA!!!

Awwwwwww........

Reminds me of when Mischief gets into Zoomie mode when she jumps on
the bed. So I toss her a mousie and she rolls on her back and beats
the snot out of it......

That is until the mousie is batted out of reach. I've caught her on
her back trying to reach the mousie, tummy exposed, legs splayed out
and the mousie JUST out of reach. She'll reach for a moment then look
at me with a look saying "uh......can you reach that for me????" As
if the extra energy she needs is just not there.

Silly........

Ha ha ha ha!! Well, ask any model. People think it's easy, but I can't
imagine having to hold some of the positions they get stuck in. Especially
artist's models. So yeah, give the little guy some credit!

You need to get a picture of this! (OK, I need you to get a picture of
this. )

Perhaps this is why it is called "CATalepsy".
