Default Going home

I'm planning to go home on Wednesday. The trip is always an ordeal,
especially the three-hour bus trip (Caliban complained for the first two
hours straight when we came here), but once we're home, the cats are
usually alright. They sleep for the first 24 hours, then they settle
back in to being indoor cats with just the outside enclosure, instead of
a whole big island to roam about.

It's always bittersweet to leave the island after a long stay. But the
conditions are quite primitive, and I will welcome the hot shower,
inside plumbing, electricity always available, broadband... But I will
miss early morning skinny dips in the cold sea (nothing wakes you up as
quickly!), watching the cats rolling around on the warm smooth cliffs,
walking barefoot on the warm smooth cliffs, smelling the sea air, the
cats galloping ahead of me everywhere I go, the swans and other sea
birds sailing by with their young in tow... Ah well, next summer, we'll
be back.

But wait! Caliban hasn't fallen in the water yet. We need a video of
that to post on youtube.

It's always a lovely thing to look forward to.

It sounds wonderful to have a place to go like that.

That sounds wonderful, so relaxing. I would forego some comforts of home
for a while, to enjoy all that beauty and peacefulness, and to let my
kitties have so much fun.

Hope your trip home is uneventful!
