My parents used to have these huge wooden spoon and fork things hanging on
their wall. Very 1950's

I have Rob's mom's old Kapod tree fork and spoon mounted on the wall outside
the dining room AKA the gaming room. The kids have dressed the room in
early something dungeon complete with swords, pistols (non working) and my
old cat-o-nine tail whip. I figure the spoon and fork outside the door is a
form of revenge.

LOL Every time I see a rerun of that old TV show 'Everybody Loves Raymond'
I see those wooden salad fork and spoon things hanging in the kitchen on his
parents wall. And I think "I remember those things!" I'm surprised I
haven't run across them, to be honest. My parents apparently never got rid
of anything. They just moved it all from place to place. Somewhere along
the line they got rid of the big wooden utensils, thank goodness!

My mom would threaten me and my siblings when we were acting up with a
wooden spoon.

"Don't make me come after you with the wooden spoon!"

Usually it worked.

And Grandma actually DID come after us once with the spoon in her
hand.

Boy i remember us peeling out of there so fast....

Babysitting wasn't my thing when I was a teen. But I did do it one time for
a desperate neighbor. The boys' mother handed me a wooden spoon and told me
to use it on them if they acted out. Uh, what? You want me to hit your
kids with a spoon?!!

My son hates hot wheels to this day. I only used it on him once and he
never forgave me. To this day he reminds me about it. He also remembers
what he did and is surprised it was only once he got whacked.

I remember that. It later escalated to the Hot Wheels Track.
