Dmitri Meets Jack-O-Lantern

This being Halloween, Dmitri was fascinated and puzzled by my
bringing my pumpkin into the kitchen, scraping it out, and carving
it. It totally didn't fit in with household morning routine. FIrst I
spread out some newspapers and a paper bag to hold the pumpkin guts,
then went out to bring in the pumpkin. When I came back, the bag was
on it's side, and there was a great deal of rustling going on inside.
I pick up bag AND kitten, put them on the carpet and got out a new
bag.

There is no worth in a grocery bag that mom doesn't also want, so
Dmitri came over and watched with rapt attention as I cut the pumpkin
open and scraped out the innards. There were big red question marks
flashing on and off above his head while he watched me doing it. =o)
he gave the finished pumpkin a thorough investigation when I was done
carving it, swatted it a few times, then went to go and wash his paws
to cover his absolute bewilderment over this new development. =o)
