Sophie
Our cat was very good (Sophie) but it has been discovered that she now
crosses the road. Is there anything we can do?? Cats normally do their own thing so can we perhaps make the kerb / side walk (grass with concrete) 'smell' so that she does'nt cross?? is there anything else we can do?? and is it true that cats group up sometimes?? I thougt they "shot on sight" at other cats (complete with scary feather duster tail!!!!) |

The only thing that can be done is to lock her up all the time and that is not an option as she loves being free. I do lock her up at nights though and think that this is the most dangerous time. Unfortunately cats mark their territory and this involves crossing roads, climbing fences and getting into the neighbours' properties. Sometimes the attraction over the road can be another cat or cats. FSP had a passion for crossing the road to the flats on the opposite corner. A cute little half grown black and white kitten lived there and they played together. To my relief the kitten and the tenants have moved away so that is one danger removed. Bev -- Cats aren't clean, they're just covered with cat spit. |

Jake was sad when Oreo was moved away, Oreo (a small tuxedo boy) would come over in the mornings and essentially ask if Jake could come out to play. Jo |

You might consider planting catnip which, if Sophie likes it, might keep her in her own yard. I don't let Persia run loose because (1) she came to me without front claws and even if she had claws (2) I live on a busy street corner. Is it possible to keep your Sophie as an indoor cat? Another thought; Persia has an outdoor enclosure. That's the only way she gets to go in the OUT. And frankly, after her experiences with the out she doesn't want to run around. When she's ready to come in from the enclosure she lets me know and rushes straight for my back door. I never have food outside for her and of course she knows the food is on the inside (as well as a comfy bed and lots of toys). Jill |

Thank you we never keep her food outside or let her out at night, although
it is dark in the early evening now. "Dave McMahon" wrote in message ... Our cat was very good (Sophie) but it has been discovered that she now crosses the road. Is there anything we can do??
