Default Blessing the animals

I just passed a local church where a sign outside announces there's to
be a "blessing of the animals". I wonder if the minister could pray
for our little grey brat-cat Emily to acquire more Christian
compassion for her step-sister Sophie, whom she attacks at every
opportunity if we don't keep them separated. On second thought, rather
than a minister, perhaps Emily needs an exorcist!

That usually goes along with the Feast of St. Francis of Assissi.

One never knows. Those blessings sometimes work. My sister and BIL
took in a rescue Golden Retriever a couple of months ago. He had
apparently been mistreated, possibly by an older woman. He barks at my
mother and won't come near her (She lives downstairs), and snarls at her
toy poodle. He does get along fine with the Golden they already had.

They took all three dogs to an animal blessing last Sunday, and since
then he hasn't barked at my mother, has let her pet him, and has kissed
her toy poodle.
