Default More Problems!

Well, I guess I didn't get the smell of d*g out of the house completely
because Jessie is still acting out. Monday night she kept jumping on my be
and getting into Bandit's face. Last night she did the same but this time
there were claws out and Bandit received a slice on her left paw pad. It
didn't bleed too badly and wasn't too deep, so I just cleaned it off and
checked it again this morning (closed and on the way to healing nicely).

I'm going to check with my DH today to see if Jessie is still agitated, and
if she is I'll try getting some Fellaway at PetsMart. I've never used
Fellaway before (thankfully have never had to), so any advice would be
welcome. I'm going to try getting just the spray at first rather than the
more expensive dispenser since I'm hoping I'll only have to use it for a
little while.

Any other ideas on curbing the naughty behavior?

Hugs,

CatNipped

I would give extra time to each kitty, especially any that are acting out,
and give them lots of positive attention. I'd reward any good behavior
(which I'm also including to mean, anytime they're just sitting there
getting along) with lots of praise and maybe a treat or two. If you
seriously need to get the diffusers, check out www.valleyvet.com, their
prices are cheaper than Petsmart or Petco -- also someone else may have a
better source for this, too, seems like I recall maybe Victor had another
site he ordered from? You can try checking out this site for pet stains,
also -- http://www.mistermax.com/products.html -- I did use their product
and it was pretty good but I don't know if it's better than Petzyme which
you can get by the gallon at Petsmart. Purrs and good vibes coming your
way, Catnipped!

Cinder and Rosie don't exactly get along. I've used the Feliway spray and
it does seem to help.
I tried Rescue Remedy, but it did nothing.
I haven't tried the vanilla trick of putting a dab of vanilla on the
shoulders and just above the base of the tail on each cat so that they
share a common odor. You could try that along with a vanilla scented
carpet powder that you sprinkle on the carpet before vacuuming.
Most likey, it will be a matter of time whatever you do.

Oh, thanks for the spelling correction - I was going to google it and would
have not found it spelled the way I had it.

I don't think it's a matter of smells. Every night I use a soft bristled
brush on all my girls (except Sammy who still tries to eat and disembowel
the brush), on after the other in order of seniority. I think this spreads
around their smell to each other. Jessie is just very active and very
"high-strung", so I think she is acting out because of the confinement and
the remaining smell of d*g in her house. I'm hoping the Feliway hormones
will calm her down.

By-the-way, did you see that the remnants of Ivan turned back to Florida
and have crossed into the Gulf of Mexico on and are on the way to Texas?
Annie

Ohmygawd, yes - will it never end!!??? We're supposed to be getting the
effect by this weekend - just in time to ruin our office picnic Saturday.

Thanks for the advice Annie!
