Thanks!
Thank you, everyone, who posted in response to my "Worrying" about
carbon monoxide. I had the test last night, and it came out negative. I also bought a CO monitor, and so far, it hasn't picked up anything in my apartment. So that's one less thing to worry about. Kitties are safe (at least from that). However, I'm still very tired. I got some other lab results back, and both thyroid and blood count looked normal. So I still don't know *why* I'm so tired. I have been working very hard over the past few months, had a number of very long days, and in general have worked at a fast pace. So I don't know, maybe that's catching up with me. I also started to develop a new problem yesterday: lower back pain, possibly on the sciatic nerve. I've had chronic back trouble for years, but usually only in specific circumstances, such as when I'm standing in one place for too long, or I've been walking for more than about a half hour, then I need to stop and do stretches. But yesterday, I got a new pain that I haven't felt before. It's a deep ache, and starts in the lower back and spreads down the backs of *both* legs. The worst thing about it is that I can't get comfortable when it's bothering me. Mostly I've been able to sit in a chair without back pain, but not with this. It hurts no matter what I'm doing, and last night it really disturbed my sleep, because I couldn't get comfortable no matter what position I was in. The only thing that helps is ibuprofen, so I've been taking that regularly. So now I'm going to have to go back to the HMO and try to get Xrays or an MRI. Something's up. And I don't think this caused my tiredness because the back pain started yesterday, and I've been feeling exhausted since Saturday. Ugh! Getting old sucks! Thanks for listening. -- Joyce To email me, remove the triple-X from my user name. ^..^ |

Good to hear However, I'm still very tired. I got some other lab results back, and both thyroid and blood count looked normal. So I still don't know *why* I'm so tired. Could be...glad the thyroid and blood test came out okay. I also started to develop a new problem yesterday: lower back pain, possibly on the sciatic nerve. I can so totally relate however. The only thing that helps is ibuprofen, so I've been taking that regularly. I'm glad that helps..I can't take ANY kind of anti inflammitories because of stomach issues :/ So now I'm going to have to go back to the HMO and try to get Xrays or an MRI. Something's up. Ugh! Getting old sucks! I hear that..... Thanks for listening. That's what we're here for sweetie. PUUUURRS for you to get feeling better. Thanks for listening. -- Joyce I'm glad the problem isn't CO, but sorry they couldn't found out what it was. I'm really sorry about that pain. I've had sciatica several times, and occasionally muscle spasms in my back, but I was usually able to find some way to get comfortable. Have you tried a heating pad? I hope you can get some real relief soon. You're right about getting old. I've been lucky so far, but I've had quite a few aches and pains off and on. Joy |

I know it doesn't feel as good as heat, but try some ice where the back pain seems to originate. It works better than heat the first few days of a back problem. I can stop inflammation. Just don't go more than 20 minutes on, 20 minutes off. Or what I'd try is just plain 20 minutes before I wanted to go to sleep to see if that was enough I could get to sleep. Jo |

I remember fondly the days I could sit on the floor, surrounded by cats, and giving them their nightly treats. Now, I can't even take a nice soothing bath. Can't get in or out of the tub. At least my shower has 'bars" to grab onto. If I sit for too long, knees lock up. Hugs Kyla |
