Default I gave away Persia's remaining r/x cat food

Someone where I live has a cat that also eats the prescription kibble.
So I sent out an email saying if anyone wanted what was left you can
have it. I stored it in an air-tight container. A man replied his cat
eats the same food, so he came over and picked up what was left. I gave
$ off coupons for Cat's Pride kitty litter to my neighbor.

At this point I do not think I'll be getting another cat. That may
change, given time. Maybe once I get her credit card paid off. I loved
her dearly and always will, but damn she was expensive. Between medical
problems over the years and prescription food, wow. Still, I would not
have given her up for the world. I'd have gladly paid if she could have
been comfortable for another couple of years. Sadly, it was not
destined to be that way.

I'm not ready to take on another. Thank you all again for your kind
wishes. It means a lot to me. I'm glad I could share her and her
antics with you over the years. She was a real sweetheart. I say
goodnight to her every night, even though I know she's not here. She's
around somewhere.

I say good night to all my departed cats at bedtime. Ike (who disappeared), Amber, Aggie (store cat at Agway that I used to visit), and Coco - who almost stayed with me but he wouldn't eat.

Most of us have gone through the same experience you are having. It took us two years before we got another cat because we missed their companionship and the love they bring into a house.

I know how final giving away that last food feels.

For now remember all the love and fun you shared, it really is priceless.

Don't write off having another cat, if it's meant you'll have one. It took
us 4 years before we had another after Sophie (RB). A friend of mine
waited 6 years. It's just when it feels right.

I say good night each night to Sweep (RB), Sophie (RB) and Sootie wherever
she might be at that time, inside or out.

Please don't stop posting on here. I found it very helpful and very nice
to come and chat to cat people.

Judith

Oh, I won't stop posting. I have enjoyed this group and hearing about
all the cats for many years. And maybe, one day, I'll post about a new
one. I don't anticipate that any time soon. Only time will tell.

I washed and put away Persia's litter box. Swept the errant kitty
litter off the floor. I washed and put away her food bowls and the
plastic table mats they sat on. (She was a messy eater!) Those spots
are empty now, and so is my heart. But that doesn't mean I don't want
to hear about other kitties. Persia is gone, but she will live forever
in my heart. No one needs to be afraid to bring her up.

I'm glad that you won't be leaving the group. Maybe we'll even hear
occasionally about your neighborhood cats.

After Betty, I always wanted to have a tuxedo girl present to remind me and
fill that little emological niche. If Persia was my first cat, I'm sure
that I'd always pine for a plush and smiley gray girl cat.

He/she will find you, when the time is right. (At least that's been my
experience.)
